| And to cap it all off Salford Red Devils defence secretary appears again with his shiny red fire extinguisher to tell us we are all idiots for showing frustration at how things have gone this year.

These negative posts are just under whelming. Surprised by you JGR here. What is it about Salford `fans`?
Surely we are men enough to understand what has gone on since Easter.
You know attitudes like this in 1940 would have us speaking German by 1941.
I hope all the moaners are there in strength on Sunday. The players NEED your support.'"
EB, as a fans forum if we cant express our current views on here where can we? I’m sorry about the negativity, but after the last 8 weeks I am finding it impossible to be anything but. As I said, it isn’t just the results on the pitch it is what’s going on off it too.
I’ll be there Sunday, as always, hoping for a turn-around in fortunes.

Yes to my recollection no lines have been crossed. I can't recall any posts that make personal or discriminatory comments against any individuals at the club.
EB is always the first to react to the slightest evaluation of Iestyn Harris coaching credentials, but was never backwards at coming forward to attack Brain Noble at every opportunity.
I just feel as coach Harris has to ultimately take some responsibility for our poor disciplinary record this year, contributing significantly to a disappointing season.

| I've merged two topics because they generally talking about the same thing. I think what is interesting here is two different trains of thought. One, that Harris has deserved a shot at staying on until the end of the season and beyond, and another that says if we do not defeat Wakefield away, he should go. Interesting.

| It says in MEN that a return by Tim Sheens could happen. In whatever capacity I'd be happy perhaps in a more permanent or hands on role as he could possibly command more respect from the players due to vast experience ?? We'll never really know what has/is going on behind the scenes. Coach to go or not is a very tough call with lots of pro's and cons IMO, (of course 2 differing opinions on this), considering the season we are having as we all know. What happens if we don't stay up etc?? I can only pray the Dr sticks with us no matter what.

| I cannot guess if this board reflects, in any way, how Salford fans are feeling. living and working away from you lot means the only barometers are comments at matches (or in the watering holes we use), the MEN or this board. However if it is reflective of general points of views, it would explain why we are not attracting fans. We are projecting a depressed view of the club.
This is not a shout to lighten up, or to be like EB (though I do respect his views). If the fans are so much depressed by the actions on and off the pitch, then remedial action needs to be taken. I will not ask anyone to pretend Salford is rocking when it is not: pure stupidity and patronising. If there is an issue, and there seems to be at least one, then it has to be faced up to and eradicated or redeemed.
So Dr Koukask, time to call your fans forum and feed us the plans to get us out of this trench.

Defence Secretary here sir,
Yes I am a Harris fan and feel he deserves a good run at the job. We all seem to forget the improvement in his care last season and of course this year we were 4th at Easter. Pretty good effort I feel. Now without his playmakers we have been shambolic - I accept that - so see it only fair that with both Chase & Dobson back he should be given chance to improve our lot.
Noble? Always critical. His style of RL of 5 drives and an up and under dont suit me at all. Sadly I remember him playing when he was just a tackling machine and a scurrier from acting half back. What can talented kids learn from him?
Rather put my faith in a Dual International who has been there and got the T shirt.

Good man. Our problem is that we are not flies on the wall. We need a true insider to tell us whats going on.

| I think the benefit if Sheens did take over from Harris would be he is less likely too allow any interference from the Doc in the back ground, I doubt he would have left TP rotting for so long or allowed Locke to come back when not 100% fit.
Harris is a good coach but has he got the experience to handle some of the personalities in the current set up or the Doc for that matter.

Let's not forget that last years apparent improvement saw us go from 8th at the time he took the job to 10th at the end of the season. However, he was rightly credited with the introduction of a more attractive style of rugby and apparently creating a more professional culture within the club.
I feel a win at Wakefield could be the start of another good run however with 104 points conceded in our last 3 games and players scrambling for the exit you can't really blame people for being a tad despondent.

| You & I will never agree re IH v BN. IH did bring some attacking flair to the table though BN`s turgidity would encourage no new fans to come on down.
Yes - Harris has until the end of the season for me and totally agree if Sheens would come as Manager then we would have an attractive unit.

I actually think Harris has received the least criticism and has been shown more patience by the Salford support than any reds coach I can recollect over many years.
Why? I think most supporters recognised the need for some stability at the club and were optimistic this squad would be challenging soon for a top 8 finish considering the expensively assembled squad. An initial victory last year at a struggling Bradford Bulls was followed by several defeats before a late flurry of good results showed some progress with a tighter looking defence. There were a couple of belly flops at Wakefield and Wigan but Harris did just enough to prevent supporters becoming twitchy.
This year expectations were higher with the bookies having us down for a 7th place finish. We started slow again before a few decent results around easter had many believing the team were on the up and realising their true potential. Typically the heights of easter Monday were short lived when key suspensions and injuries took their toll and we now inevitably face a potentially nail biting middle 8 playoff that nobody predicted.
I think the current predicament the club find themselves in will be the real test of Harris coaching abilities. Problems on the field seem to be compounded with issues off it and that must be challenging for a young coach. This has to be the most difficult period in Iestyn's reign and it will be interesting to see if he has the qualities required or perhaps a change of luck to get things back on track.
We are lead to believe by the owner that Harris is a very hard working coach and I really hope this will bare fruit when our SL survival is on the line in August & September.
