| Quote: duffymoon "Is the West Stand the only area of the ground that's open?'"
Unless pre sales improve, yes just West stand. SMC have to man up stewards/kiosk staff etc, so technically if they have only manned up for a 2500/3000 crowd (west stand) because of H&S regs that is all can enter, if 4/5000 or more turn up people could be potentially turned away so either book on line or get down & purchase your tickets to be sure to get in & support SOS

| That Shirl is a potential disaster for the club. You are doing your level best to encourage people to go yet once that stand is full supporters will be turned away. What will happen if Sunday turns out to be a nice day and it encourages people to attend who haven't pre-bought tickets. Very short-sighted especially given the importance of the fixture. I can see it's a costing dilemma but in this case speculate to accumulate.

| I would have also looked at the pricing structure for this one and gone with a couple of quid for kids and a tenner adult.

But things are now a lot different to the Willows where you could just have the odd token yellow jacket knocking about and nobody ever questioned it. It's a privately owned stadium with stringent safety regs that cannot be breached - whilst those running it will, quite rightly as it's run on a profit basis, will not want to risk the extra charges incurred via G4S for opening extra stands if it's not a viable option.
And 12 notes is hardly breaking the bank.

| As Marshy has said this could become a disaster of the highest order!
Bearing in mind there has been minimal advertising of the game. And if I have heard correctly from the club on FB the MEN are giving us the full back page on fri. Which no doubt will be a bugle call to encourage people to come and support the club. If hundreds or even thousands ( yes I know wishful thinking) decide to just turn up can you imagine the carnage that could cause? Not to mention the negative publicity it would cause.
Even all of us were going to turn up on the day and pay at the gate!

| What's the situation with parking? Can you just pay on arrival or do you have to book online? Then again I could always try using my Car park pass from last season!

Eccles Amateur Rugby League Club will be open for parking from 11.00am on Sunday. We offer secure parking for £3 per car. Follow the link at www.ecclesrugbyleague.co.uk for directions/information.
We are also donating five Parking Permits for the 2013 season (which will cover all League and Cup games) towards fundraising efforts.

I accept that the Health and Safety brigade have a lot to answer for and your correct about procedure.
I also agree that £12 isn't a bank breaker for some but if you have an adult bringing two kids it isn't then just £12 I think I am right in saying that if they are over 5 then that would cost you £22 and that may be the differance in attending or not.
Go for economies of scale and pitch the price at £10 and £2....£14 for a family of three leaving decent change out of £20.
Surely as far as Salford are concerned Sunday is about trying to show that the club can get bums on seats not if it can raise a few extra quid, if that does happen then all well and good.

| I know this is prob out of Salford's hands but only having the west stand open is crazy, you are all trying to rally everyone around who went to last game at willows but if they all turned up less than half if them would be able to get in !!!!! How were the pre sales for that last game at willows, I'd have a guess at not many with a massive walk up on the day. It could very well happen again on Sunday with a disastrous outcome.

"Health and Safety brigade"? How to lose any credibility in an argument. You'll be talking about the PC brigade next. It's nothing to do with this perceived "Health and Safety" brigade - H&S regulations have always existed in sport, it's just that when you own your own ground and using your own stewards, some paid some voluntary, it's easier to flout said laws than stick to them. G4S and the SMC won't flout any laws as they, quite rightly, don't want to get screwed over.
I agree that it's a bit sh*t, but this is the world we live in. The other question is, is it really a gamble worth taking? Are we really going to have 5-6 thousand people turn up on spec on the day itself?

5-16 year olds is £3. So, buying your tickets from the ground, that's 1 £12 ticket and 2 £3 tickets costing £18. Cheaper than an adult ticket for a normal Super League fixture.

Ideally, yes. Realistically, I think deep down we both know what the reality is going to be. Although I do hope I'm wrong and will quite happily come on here and hold my hands up if I am.

| Incidentally having purchased my tickets yesterday i was charged £22 for one adult, one child and a student aged 17. Not properley reading the values I simply assumed a student under 18 would be granted entry at child rates.
