Quote: Red Preacher "Oh how exciting is this!
This is gonna be one of those games that I enjoy despite the result. A top quality team on show. A team of underdogs just ready to have a go at them. A huge Wigan following. A slightly increased turn-out from Salford due to, A, we're playing Wigan and B, we've won a couple. AND, the return of Sunday rugby at the Willows... Hell, the sun may even shine!'"
You'll never believe it.

I hope not.
We're likely to be missing Amos Roberts, Leuluai, Riddell and Hansen only. It's hardly an injury crisis and I hope we don't go down the Leeds route of bleating about every single injury and wishing injury problems on other teams(Like McClennan did).
They included everyone bar the tea lady(sprained pouring wrist) on their injury list regardless of experience. When we played them they still had more internationals on the field then us.
It should be a good day Sunday. I'd probaby have Salford down as my second team as the Girlfriend and her family are from the area originally.

Tis gonna be a cracker. I'm actually looking forward to seeing this Wigan style of play. It sounds very similar to the style that Craig Bellamy has brought to the NRL.
I gotta say though, it baffles me that people get so upset over this style. As the rules stand, it's within them So why so many b!tch about it, rather than learning from it and further advancing it, I don't know.

| This a pop at the press rather than Wigan, the headlines on reports of our recent victories have focused on our oppenents shortcomings rather than Salford`s efforts to win.

Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book :Others/NA.JPG |

Quite agree, also it bugs me when Hemmings keeps saying that it will drive supporters away. Why? Because teams aren't able to scoot from dummy-half every tackle & make 10+ easy yards? It beggars belief to me, not least because it's the style of play which is so prevalent when we face the Southern Hemisphere sides, surely if more Super League teams adopt this style it'll improve our international game.

Dare I say it, but it upsets people because its Wigan. It wasn't mentioned anywhere near as much when Huddersfield started it last season

Hemmings, as far as i can remember, has never had any idea about rugby. Talks total garbage week after week, about any team.

| I'm quite liking the style of Wigan this year. Their fitness and enthusiasm is something every team should take note of. I see them as real contenders this year if they can keep it up, and will be looking forward to seeing how we match-up against them.

| last year you lot did the online free ticket thing, if you gave a manchester post code you got 2 free tickets to "introduce you to the game" or something like that. im sure it boosted your crowd. you should look into doing that again for other games like (forgive me, i don't know if you've already had these fixtures yet) wire or saints at home.

It needs to be done way in advance to have a recognisable effect. See how Wigan hyped their home match up with Leeds last year.

| Playing sunday afternoon is the best incentive, I actual don't need to rush home from work to make the match on Friday night, will be a cracking atmosphere on Sunday afternoon, a few more beers before the game.
COME ON SALFORD!

| Free tickets are being allocated to NHS staff and family for Sunday. No idea if it's a one off or has been going on for a while (I've only just heard) but hopefully should get a few more people through the gates!
Do they still give free tickets out to primary schools or is that initiative long gone? It was a good idea that imo
