| From what i seen we conceded too many penalties and gifted them field position in which apart from 10 mins in the first half were unable to defend our own try line out wide!
Forwards did there job but outwide were just too weak defensively! This i'm sure will improve next season with the new signings! But even the most optimistic fan will admit top8 is going to be a struggle!

| Quote: Bonita Red "Roby was terrible. Hardly played a set without him giving a penalty one way or another and missed loads of forward passes. Also just made bad calls consistently.
I think we do look a proper side and I don't think we are too far off.
The comments about lack of heart are well off the mark.
The cup is half full not half empty.
But we lost !
'"
I thought we were much better. We started both halfs at a far quicker tempo than usual and were unlucky to allow them the first score after Sau was penalized for something the referee noticed.
I think Harris has done well to engender the team spirit with loan players and those who realize they may not be there next year.
The same referee as allowed the play to continue when Shannan Mac was unconscious from the Brough kick v Huddersfield at Easter and we allowed Hanbury to go the length when Tasi was caught on the head.
Nothing from the officials or the vid refs.
Looks like Thursday night for the elusive win, then ! Hope so.
I ain't downhearted in the slightest.Credit to Iestyn Harris and the players.
They are doing well to be getting better after the boondoggle era of Noble. The warm weather training in South Africa didn't seem to help much today.

I haven't posted for a long time on here but I wanted to because I can relate to you and your comments.
I know exactly what you are going through pal, it made me feel crazy too before I had counselling. The result of which was not to renew my season ticket after 24 years and I haven't looked back since. I'm nothing more than a casual observer now and I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

| You have been misguided by Dr Koukash, money doesnt buy success, if gives you a false position of being successful. The players are very average. Rangi not a patch on what he did for Castleford. Gleeson, Meli both past their sell by dates. Morley good grief, should have finished 3 years ago. Cant honestly think of one Salford player that would get in any of the current top 4 sides. Thats shows how far off the pace you are.
Harris appointment a joke.

| Thanks for that Brian.
Actually a BIG improvement since you left the other week.
Players beginning to enjoy their Rugby and do you know I think we still have a squeak in getting into the 8.

You probably can buy success, but you can't do it straight away. To go from bottom of the league to the top will take several years of building both the club and the first team. Right now to play for Salford poor players will want average wages, average players will want top wages and top players won't come to Salford yet. So Salford first need to become competitive, which they are this season.
Then work their way into the bottom end of the playoffs for the next couple of years. Then players will start re-assessing whether they want to play for Salford or not. Right now Salford are just one step ahead of London and Bradford in their attractiveness to players. But if/when Salford start making the playoffs regularly and the more above average players they sign the more attractive they'll become.
Then suddenly average players will only want average wages etc to play for Salford.
But you can't miss the step out in the middle.

Yeah your spot on about Morley pal, he should have finished 3 years ago. What he was doing captaining and being a corner stone of the best pack in the league and guiding Warrington to a third wembley win and Two Grand finals in his last two years there, I have no idea.
and Hock and Hansen would waltz into the Wigan Side.

| I honestly think today with a little more confidence and an old head calling the shots we would have won. Mullaney when he was clear was a perfect example in that he tried to throw the miracle pass rather than take the tackle and attack the line from a good position.
I do wonder if the Doc puts to much pressure on behind the scenes, you can only imagine who great his desire to beat Widnes today after the league game at theirs and the cup defeat and how that desire has manifested itself behind the scenes.
I think over the last couple of weeks or so there has been gradual improvements, what you have to remember Noble bought the players he saw as being right to play a certain style of rugby, Harris is trying to change that and for some you can clearly see that it's a style they are either not used too or are uncomfortable with.
I'll happily give the current management team and players until the end of the season to come good (I still say at some point things will click and then someone is going to get one hell of a battering). I suspect some of the so called big names we signed for this year will either be allowed to find other clubs or pensioned off come the last game and that Harris will bring in some young blood who will forge a team for the years rather than for one season as Noble clearly did.
I'm still more excited going to a Salford game this season than I have been for virtually any season in my 40+ years going to Salford and I have confidence that the Doc will oversee a great period in the clubs history over the coming years.
As someone else who used to post on here occasionally said "keep the faith"

| From a neutral's perspective watching Salford play yesterday. The team don't seem prepared to go through their sets of six and simply do the basics.
Rangi Chase tries to do too many fancy things. I'd be tempted to play an ordinary half back and put Chase in the centres, let him be a maverick there as well as put the defensive work in. Once you have set up a solid platform of points, then try something out of the ordinary. You have the players, but they are not knocked into a disciplined unit.
More grunt and less champagne rugby.
Yes they will thrash a lowly team, but surely raising the standard of play against all the others and the better sides would be more pleasing.

I think that's a fair comment.
We are definitely a group of individuals, not helped by what seems like a wasted pre-season on the face of it. Chase just needs relegating to a normal HB role instead of the one who makes the calls. That wont happen until we get a strong organising HB. Noble's recruitment has left a bit of a stain for this season, leaving us poor in pace, hooking, and short in the halves. We're getting there. Performances are improving and I can already see a much more disciplined attack under Harris. He's tightened us up around the ruck, but until he gets better quality on the flanks he wont do much for our poor defence out wide.

Maybe I need to cut all ties with the club for the sake of my health? Sorry guys maybe things have come to head and it's made me realise I need to break loose. I've been suffering with ill health through Salford for some time and this has made me realise I need a clean break for Salford and rugby league.
I won't post on here again, take my word. Bye guys and good luck!! The time comes where enough is enough!!'"
