| Lee is solid in defence! I think this would be the best move! Good to have some selection problems.

| Leftfield idea try and get Ryan Breirley from Leigh on loan with a nod to a perminant deal. Pretty sure he'd shine at an event like MM.

| I think it would be better if people lay off Tim Smith - he had had far more criticism than he deserves.
It was heartening to read the Barry Eaton piece in the RLW - someone who has had more adversity than I realized - where he explains that when the Crusaders were liquidated Iestyn Harris put the welfare of his players first, before considering his own career.Hugely impressed with that when the same cannot be attributed to other coaches.
As for Smith - I don't want this club in a similar situation to what happened to a former Hull Fc half back not so long ago,and it appeared to me by his animated celebration when SRD scored a try, that Smith enjoys being part of the Red Devilution,so should be encouraged not summarily dismissed because he is only one part of an under-performing team.

That now makes some sense. I thought supercat was suggesting ADASA was probing the 2011 Wakefield squad.'"
And, of course, adding fuel to the speculative fire, Paul Aiton - Cronulla 2010-11, now Leeds - is currently out for 'about three months' with an unspecified mystery illness.

Aye. Unless my ears deceived me at Perpignan last week, he knocked on and the bell-end squadron started chanting Theo's name.

Also Dean Collis (currently injured) and Ben Pomeroy. If Pomeroy should contract a mysterious condition between now & Saturday then I think we may have the explanation.

| It's obviously only speculation at this stage with regard to the unexplained absense of some former Cronulla players contracted in the 2010-11 season. However, should these players be found guilty and banned globally, where do you think it would leave existing clubs legally with regard to contractual agreements?
Do you think Salford and Leeds etc, could persue financial compensation from the Cronulla club or even the players themselves? Again it's only speculation but I wonder if this could be the reason Tim Smith hasn't looked the same player he was last year?

| Likely situation is that ,if player is found to have committed a drugs related offence, his contract would be null and void.
No chance of compensation,I wouldn't have thought.
The whole scenario seems very unlikely to me,because of the time that's elapsed.
Let's hope we see Smith playing again very soon because he's certainly copped far too much criticism

Hypothetical I know at this stage but . . .
Surely if a player isn't in a position to honor a contract (Non Illness/injury related) he would be in breach and liable for damages. If Salford didn't honor a contract they would be dragged through the courts so why wouldn't it work both ways because Salford have invested a lot of money in the player with a transfer fee etc?
I don't think the Doc would be too chuffed if he had a banned player that cost him iro £70,000 out of his own back pocket!!

| As you say it's hypothetical ,but I think there's a specific clause relating to drugs.
If so,the terms of that clause would apply.
I assume that would be instant dismissal.
Therefore the terms of the contract would have been observed.
End of.
But I could be wrong.
As I say, let's hope it isn't this anyway

Say this was the case and the players being mentioned were dismissed by their current clubs would the money left of their wages for the rest of the season be available to spend elsewhere?
