I suppose there is always the expenditure thing. I'm just very suspicious of motives with regards to most things Sale.

So who's season is February, March, April and May (and possibly September)?

I'd like to know the details of how/if a deal would cut our expenditure, but it seems as though we're only going to find that out 2nd hand from what Sale are telling their fans.

50/50 rent for one

I fail to understand how this would lead to Salford's expenditure being lowered? Surely the SMC will want to maximise profits - if we're not doing that then they're unlikely to reduce the money that does actually come in from us. Not unless Sale are getting completely and utterly shafted in terms of the rent they're paying. Or unless I'm missing something obvious?

50/50 as in Salford and Sale will pay the same as each other, or 50/50 in terms of Sale and Salford will both pay half of what Salford are currently paying? The latter doesn't seem to stack up as we've heard plenty about how Sale have been negotiating on cost as though they found the rent excessive.

Currently we are paying rent on the stadium for the whole year, if another tenant moves in the rent and repayments also to the council will be shared between the two therefore in theory a 50% reduction in costs for Salford. Thats the impression I got on Monday night.

Yeah, but if you're a landlord with two rooms to lease out and a mortgage to repay, you generally have a rental fee per room; you don't halve them both if you manage to let both out - unless you're not bothered about making money.

if Salford pay as much as they are paying now and Sale/Manchester only pay rent the debt would still be paid off in the same period, the only way it would be paid off in half the time is if both clubs continue to pay the same as Salford now, unlikely because of the rent issue and Sale/Manchester negotiations, some of the rent pays off the debt as far as I am aware. like a HP agreement.

we only have the one room and that is being sublet, just like a number of council tenants used to do.

This just seems to be the nature of things with the club.

The people of Salford are pretty apathetic to Salford Reds in general, plus we have the Leagues most unrealistic and miserable fans. I'm sure they'd be willing to devote their time, money and reputations on forming something that would need nothing short of a miracle to come to fruition.

I don't get what you're saying. Sublet? Are you saying that Sale are renting off Salford rather that the SMC? That's the only way subletting can come into it.

I think it is the best we could have got under the circumstances, personally I am pretty ed off with it, but unless Salford could find a sugar daddy this was always going to be the route, it may in the long run bring in more fans and we may improve as a club, we will get the marketing expertise of Sale/manchester as well.
The moment Red City developments went tits up I knew the ground would not be ours at the start, Wilkie has put a lot in but he is only a poor millionaire compared to other Rugby League club owners so we have to look for what is best for Salford in the long run. I now think he will sell the club before the end of the season and stay on as life president of the club with Kennedy buying Salford, then I feel that could be the real rocky ride, but why buy a team to make it fail. With Stockport he didn't buy a team in the top division with Salford he would have that and I think he may decide to put some money in.

Maybe, but under a different name? Kennedy will get what he wants and have a 'Manchester' club fro each code playing there. It's not looking good.

Make it fail to push us out of the ground and attempt to make the Greater Manchester area a Rugby Union hotbed centred around 'Sharks.'
