Cause for optimism? I would be very happy if I were a Red tonight. Both halfbacks showed what they can do. Quick clean passing along the line. Good defence. After 10 mins I thought you were going to get mullered. You turned it round and more. Scored two good tries and hopefully no injuries. Was not impressed with your 13 and Dewit. Did'nt look interested.
Your play the balls need to speed up when you have a team on the rack and you need some grunt up front and a more aggressive game. Two hard packmen and you wil be fine.

Not been to the game, 10 - 16 scoreline flatters salford. But being a salford fan who refrains from wearing rose tinted specs, you can see the difference in the 2 sides it's quite evident simply by the fact that if wigan play badly they still WIN, if salford play good or bad we still LOSE.

As a Wigan fan that scoreline certainly did not flatter Salford! I thought Salford defended well and nullified most of Wigans attacking plays. Sam Tomkins was the difference tonight, if he didn't play then Salford win IMO. Good luck for 2012.

Unbelievable post as he's not been to the game.
My first visit and all the logistics at the ground looked to be working well but A57 and motorway will be ongoing problem.
Team did well as a run out as long as we don't read too much into it.
Half backs were sound, I'm not an Adamson fan but I thought he was outstanding tonight as was Jordan James.
Right side defence looks flakey.
Both wings are quality.
Feka looks far better.
We look one aggressive forward lacking but ,overall, well done to the whole team and coaching staff.

It would appear that some of more emotionally volatile Wiganers are furious they only won by an embarrassing 6 point margin and not 60 against struggling Salford in a pre season friendly.

Failed expectations on the night prompting criticism about the new 26m stadium being a shed, the stadiums location, the damp weather, the smell that didn't exist and the car park and landscaping that hasn’t been finished yet.

The comment that really cracked me up was about the stadium being in the middle of nowhere when it's a stone throw from one of the busiest stretches of road in the UK. From the comment you would imagine it was built on farmland in rural Dorset.

Last night was the best I have seen Salford play for a long time.
Yes it was a friendly but even so I am now more optimistic than I thought I would be for the new season.
I ignore all the negative comments about the new stadium as every other Salford fan should.
I thought last night it looked great and we may even have an atmosphere back
