| I feel sorry for john wilkinson splashed is own money again to help the club and all he gets in return is a shambles of performances i just think its time mcrae goes now. Since karl harrison left the club as gone back to the dark ages bring in brian noble now or there is no chance of playoff in super league. a decent coach would walk away after the fans reaction and for john wilkinsons sake i hope so. His interview though states he is not going to walk so we will have to makes the decition for him and keep getting on is back . I do not like to have a go at coaches but for me now whats he done in three years.

| I feel sorry for him too , but thats business for you. My concern is us getting a franchise for the next three years. I feel we have not progressed anywhere in the 2 years we have had. ok we have the new stadium etc , im not sure if progression is part of it. I hope not. My only hope is SM gets sacked/resigns early this week and we can bring in someone who can steady the ship and get us moving , quickly , in the right direction. Brian Noble is my choice to do that.

That would be my worry too, but think with the terrible troubles surrounding Wakefield they have to be nailed on to go.

| Although he would be most people's choice, with a proven track record, it is unlikely Nobby will come to Salford. We would have to break the bank for one, & with having to pay out the rest of McRaes contract, it would be too expensive. Unless JW is willing to open his own wallet, bless him.
At the beginning of the year, although not a fan of McRae for some time, I did feel he deserved a chance to coach a decent squad for a change - given the e he's had for the last 3 years. But unfortunately, time has clearly run out now. Pre-season was awful, now the real thing is worse.
Discipline - down to the players. Stupid penalties likewise. Cashmere, Godwin, Boyle need reading the riot act. And we are crying out for a decent go forward prop.
But the lack of organization is gob-smacking. Both in defense & attack. The play is too slow, fitness levels are poor. Is John Cartwright missing the rain?!!

| McRae has to go... if not now then next week when a pumped-up, hurt Wakefield team take us to the cleaners. The personal abuse of SM is not on though... you fat this, you fat that etc ain't on. By all means McRae out, Wilky Wilky sack McRae etc is fine but not the personal stuff, make your points in a decent way I say
P.S. Most of the players are sh*thouses for playing like they did last night, SM as coach or not.. only the likes of Ratchford, Spencer and Gibson can be excused and hold their head up, Broughton never touched the bloody ball and he is faster than sh*t off a shovel...

| Whilst I dont think Mccrae is the man to take us forward there are a couple of points bugging me at the moment.
The players - Im sorry but mcrae doesnt make them miss tackles.....kick out on the full......be lazy on the pitch when closing down etc. Fine, they might not like mccrae....most of us dont like our bosses.....but they are being paid to play for our wonderful club and should be busting their bodies whilst oin that field....and they are not! As I said, some of them may not like him, but they need to man up and get on with their job until the club makes a decision (if indeed they do)
And one other point, people saying adamson, sidlow etc are being stiffled....not reaching potential etc...who's to say its not these players lmiting their own potential...maybe they aint puttin in the effort
As I said, i dont think mcrae can take us any further, but theres two sides to every story and who's to say the players wont like a new coach..and then spit their dummys out again...and we could end up right back in the same situation.
Just a bit of food for thought.

I agree,on the coaching front the coach appears to have either run out of ideas and is not prepared or is unable to change tactics to take into account our and the opposing teams strengths/weaknesses.
Why,from a kick off, which against Saint's we had 10/12,do we always kick off and virtually give the ball to the same player on the same spot each time?and then allow them a free 20/25 metre run into our territory?
Why when our forwards are being well beaten do we continue with the five drives and a kick, which usually goes to the same player each time?and why bring FEKA on and have 5/10 minutes without him getting the ball.
On the abuse front some posters on this forum have made themselves look absolute idiots in the way that they use personal insults against certain people and they usually post after hearing some tittle tattle to which they add their own little piece to pass comments over someone that they want sacking.

| Quote: Lyrad Red "Yet another stupid clueless Rugby League fan. We all like to think we can coach. Perhaps even ref. But to make a comment on another teams coach who has won less than 20% of his games in charge is nothing short of laughable. Unless your a secret family member in which case advise SM to do the right thing.
You said it yourself. NON SALFORD FAN. You don't follow our club. You don't support our club. Your not passionate about our club. So don't pass such a ridiculous comment/post. I could understand if Our reaction was knee jerk but it's been like this for a long long time. And now with an improved squad he's managed to make it worse!
And to boot our young British talent has gone backwards and lost 3 seasons of what should have been progression. 3 years with any other club that would have seen them progress.
No were not world beaters. I'm guessing your a Saints fan. A saints fan who knows very little of support by the looks of it. A saints fan smarting at your first win in 3 years As well haha. Pathetic. Grow a pair and get back to your armchair viewing.
Oh and Salford made progress prior McRae. Reaching the playoffs the year before This laughable clueless uninspiring untalented unhealthy unenthusiastic excuse for a coach arrived.
Oh and learn to write. Your English and grammar is a disgrace and insult to our forum. Go post your schoolboy tat on your forum. I'm sure it'll make a change from talking about Kyle Eastmonds bum.'"
Two things numb nuts.
1) I don't support Saints
2) I'd like you to point out were in my original post my grammer was a "disgrace and an insult". I can point out were yours is though as "Saints" begins with a capital but you spelt it "saints" and "Eastmond's" has a comma in it, it isn't "Eastmonds".
You don't help yourself do you?
Doh!!!

If you're going to be pedantic you'll find you are most definitely on the wrong board!
It's an apostrophe, not a "commor" - or did you mean comma ?

Mr McRae is a hard working coach whose won Super League titles and Challenge Cups. I think he deserves a bigger and better club than the hapless Salford City Reds. What did they ever achieved pre-McRae to demand success?'"
When McRae comes out with stuff such as, he doesn't care what people think about him or the club, hes hardly going to win the fans over is he? Who said we are demanding sucess? Most of us Salford fans would be happy with 10th this year, just a little improvement, or even if we got beat, if we went down fighting with spirit and put 100% in then I'd be happy with that, but it just doesn't happen.

The sort of nasty chants that were coming Shaun McRae's way at the end of the game tonight were a disgrace. They was even heard by radio listeners.

Get off his case and give the man support. Isn't that what you're meant to do as "fans"?'"
I'm not a Salford fan either, but McRae is yesterday's man ... Let's face it, when he was winning titles, just about anyone could have coached that Saints team to win something.
The fact is, with the players they have, Salford SHOULD be doing a lot better than taking 50+ points against a declining Saints side.
Has SM got compromising photos of Wilkinson or something ?
Remember Noble took a scratch side of castoffs and took them to the play offs last season ....
