| Quote Rooted Red="Rooted Red"According to the M.E.N. The Board are meeting on Monday to discuss 'A number of internal issues' and 'The direction the Club is heading next term'
I don't read many of Mr Barkers reports? but with the club moving to a new stadium with all that entails I am not the least bit surprised that the board are having meetings to discuss various issues concerning the fitting out of the stadium coupled with the transfer of all the admin/playing/coaching staff etc.
The fact that we have a new coach, who will have made observations and recommendations regarding the existing playing staff and quite possibly the recruitment of other new players, would lead any sensible person understanding that some discussions on these matters should take place sooner rather than later.
N.B. (or his source), report that, 'His (M.P's) 'Outspoken style' has 'Ruffled a few feathers internally'.
Well I for one am delighted to hear it!! I don't know about ruffled feathers, some of them want shooting, plucking and stuffing.
It may well be that MP has ruffled a few feathers just as Karl Harrison did, as Trish Goldsmith did lets hope good comes from it.
With regards Mr Barkers source, it wasn't long ago that he was tipping Ian Millward to be our next coach, so make from that what you will.
It's obvious the improvement of the Team since MP took charge. Myself and all the fans I've spoken to are very supportive of the Coach and god help the Board if they are seen to interfere with, or attempt to reign in one of the most positive things to happen to our Club since KH departed.
Anyone with a modicum of knowledge about the game can see that despite only one win under MP there has been improvements for all to see and with a full pre-season and players in post who he wants at the club next season will be a much improved one over this.
Keep it up Matt, say it like it is and let's ruffle a few more feathers both on and off the pitch.'"

| MP must have the full backing he deserves, we are on the verge of a big thing at salford and with matt we have somebody who can deal with the pressure of being a coach of salford city reds
If the club wanted a yes man like mcrae then they have hired the wrong bloke we won't move on as a club and it will be the same old rubbish but in a new place.
Players are unhappy because Matt is pushing them to earn a living rather than just letting them pick up their pay packets with minimum fuss and effort.
Matt parish is the future of salford city reds the quicker the board realise this and back him and give him the chance to succeed the better.

| I agree with pretty much everything posted here. I don't think even the most bigoted board member could claim any credibility if Matt was to go, despite ANY "spin" that followed.
This should be seen as a real opportunity for us to start playing and behaving like a truly professional Super league club. I must admit that I'm totally "refreshed" listening to Matt's interviews and fairly amused too that some of "the old guard" must cringe at his subtle (and some not so subtle) references.
Our club has needed a REAL shake up for a bloody long time, and I'm sure even Matt appreciates that "Rome wasn't built in a day". Nonetheless I'm confident that this guy with the support of the fans will be the "right man" that our club so publicly professed to need.
Keep it coming Matt, Salford fans may not be big in number (at the moment) but you'll find that we are a very loyal bunch, as quite a few of your countrymen would probably attest to.

| It would be a complete travesty after all the John Wilkinson said about the interview process and how MP was the outstanding candidate etc etc if he doesn't now back him to the hilt for the next couple of seasons.
Come on Mr W, YOU are the chairman, if there are people on your board of directors who aren't "on board" then let them go - there's no room for sentiment in this, Salford Reds have stumbled along from one level of mediocrity to another for far too long!
At last we seem to have a guy who needs to make a name for himself and in doing that he has to get the team to deliver - and that's all we fans want!!!

| It all depends what 'backing' MP wants
Lets say he thinks we need to improve in certain areas (not just on field) , but that will cost 100k....the BOD could say 'we agree, but theres no money matt'...
I think its worrying bout the rumour on her ethe playing budget has been cut by 200k to just 800k for next year. MP may be good...but when most sides are spending between 1.2 and 1.7 million....he hasnt got achance
IF that rumour is true...I cant believe they would cut the budget...when about to move to new staidum....of all the times we need some good performances on the picth its next year. If new fans come to look at satidum..and we play gash...thats it......they wont be back. SURELY...this is just a rumour and has know truth??? However, when we are replacing established pro's with cheaper options.....(casdhmere for Gledhill), and with lots of 'financial restriction' comments in MEN/advertiser....certainly points that this rumour could be true
Very worrying really.

| Neil Barker's full of hot air, I can't believe people are getting so worked up about this.
There's probably not been a meeting, and Parish hasn't said anything particularly controversial, so will get on with JAW and Co just fine.
It was obviously a quiet day on here leaving NB with nothing to lift for his MEN 'report' so he had to recycle some other tripe.
If there was a board meeting to discuss someone who has become unpopular and says things that people don't want to hear, perhaps Neil Barker was the topic of conversation and not MP?!?

| Its about time Jw got his house in order.Weve been a laughing stock for far to long under his tenure.MP is 100% right with his past comments about the club not pulling together, and now is the best time moving grounds to get this right once and for all.
Also Steve Simms (father ted.) reckons we.ll be hitting 8-9000 gates next year.Well its not a far cry but we wont hit these gates going the way we are.Listen to MP if not, the only 8-9000 gates in our ground will be Sale Rugby unions.

| If there is a meeting the first thing on the agenda should be a one way ticket back to Australia, for Mr Simms.
the money we save should be then used on players,I wonder just who,s feathers have been ruffled.I bet father Ted,s and
Dougle aka Simms and Tarry.Matt Parish must have been painted a picture and then finds out we are run like a conner shop.
If the chairman could go back a couple of months, and we no what we no now would he still be telling us we have the right man for the job.I say yes.Well done Matt

| Lets bear in mind that everyone thinks they know how to run a club better than those that actually do. MP is in the priviledged position that he can voice his opinions to the board and they can be discussed, adopted or dismissed as they see fit but they may not necessarily be right for the club.

| If there's a meeting to discuss some of the issues we have as a Club, and what can be done to address those then that can only be positive for us all.
