| Quote scoot="scoot"I feel for Harris, I think he came in and changed a lot if things for the better. Something is happening behind the scenes, that we are not privy to. But I think he did a good job the suspensions and injuries knackered our season up, not Harris's fault'"
I agree.
As someone who grew-up with IH and played with him at St Annes, he was always a talented lad on the field. He did, however, always have his own interests at heart before anything else and it's not surprised me that his coaching career has been dogged with accusations brought about by this character trait (Allegedly of course )
I think he's brought that experience as a player and the limited amount of experience from Wigan to us. I can see the difference in attitude since he's been in charge, but for me, like you said, I think there's circumstances we're not privy to driving his current situation.

| I also feel some sympathy for Harris but isn't he ultimately responsible for team discipline? I know he isn't the one getting the bans but surely it's up to him to control his players. It's not just the bans though is it? It's all the silly penalties we have been giving away week after week all year.

| In today's MEN, Mr Barker states "Club bosses are said to be discussing severance pay with head coach Iestyn Harris, who is off sick and has been linked with the coach's job at old club Featherstone." [size=50(sic: the comma is in there!)[/size
If he leaves I will be grateful for what he has done. The change in structures and drive mid way through last season was heartening. Noting the rumours in the said paper saying our captain is being linked with Leigh and the recent ructions around the press conference, I think he has not had the best of times. If he writes an autobiography, the times at South Wales and here in Salford will be worth reading (lawyers permitting).

| Whilst I can agree he isn't directly responsible for the injuries we picked up, he is for the suspensions. He brought this Michael Maguire style defence with him from Wigan and it hasn't worked (because Iestyn Harris isn't Michael Maguire I suspect). Players have been actively coached and encouraged to take their tackling technique close to the edge, in a sport like RL there are times where you're ultimately going to get that wrong and hurt people.
I was told a story by one player earlier in the season, that Harris pinned a £50 note to the dressing room wall for the first person to take Crabtree out of the game. Apparently this was a regular tactic.

If that's true, and it wouldn't surprise me, we're better shut of him tbh.

That's an interesting one when you take into account Locke's recent radio interview. He said that last year against Wakey the game plan was basically to take Tim Smith out after he left Salford.
Not sure what to think about Harris, very talented player, seemed to be doing a good job at Wigan. Perhaps he will do a Darryl Powell, drop down and come back better in a few years, or maybe he is just more suited to be a #2.

Barker has certainly unsettled things with his attacks and diatribe on IH - spurious rumours from Twitter etc.

| Without any of the rumors I hate to tell you that every top team in superleague singles a player out and targets them weather thats due to weakness or class. Weather that be to physically hand it to them over the park or play mind games thats what happens. You take their weakest link or strongest link and throw evrything at it until you brake it down, pure and simply it's how you win a rugby league game, or any other sports game. Some people
