| Last night was a great TEAM performance, and we should enjoy the plaudits coming our way for the next couple of days.
But we shouldn't get carried away (we're Salford fans so I don't think we will, its not "in our DNA"). It will be no good thrashing Saints if we then slip up against Widnes next week. We've got tricky fixtures coming up in the next month - if we beat Widnes we can go into the Wigan and Warrington games with some confidence.
I expect Sheens and Watson did not panic too much after the Hull performance and assume they won't be doing cartwheels after last night. Its about building momentum and going about our business in a professional, level-headed manner.
BTW it was good to hear our coach talking with a local accent. 'One of our own' instilling a team ethic into a group of hungry young players. Who'd have thunk it?

[url=http://www.rugby-league.com/superleague/match_report/12205#ooid=A2cXF1MDE6ip6S1mTlQ2bfeu3EnV3aThthe stats speak for themselves[/url
Tries 8 - 2
Offloads 8 - 4
Metres 1429 - 884
Carries 187 - 127
the obvious highlights were Lui / Carney etc ,but take note of the stats for Adam Walne & George Griffin , 46 tackles, 34 carries, 297 metres between them .
my fear was we'd get monstered in the front row , especially with saints interchanges . quite the opposite .

| [iWell well well i don't mind eating humble pie, but this was exactly the attitude i've been awaiting for many years. For me George Griffin was immense last night followed by Lui and Masila. Also the only negatives were Joseph's flirting with errors and Josh Griffins bombing of two scoring opportunities. So from last nights result we must concentrate and maintain the attitude from last nights display and surge for a consistent run against Widnes, no doubt Attitude won us that game last night and is the key to breaking this 40 year unprecedented monkey on the back cycle of inconsistencies. Attitude sets the magnitude [/i

| Quote TwistTheMellonMan="TwistTheMellonMan"158 metres last night from George Griffin, will be a top forward this year.'"
I recall a discussion on here just before the season started, a couple of us said we could see the big potential in George Griffin and someone else (cant remember who) wouldn't have any of it.
I think we saw a glimpse of that potential last night. He ran his absolute heart out tonight, winning the collision each and every time. Whilst he isn't physically the biggest (yet) the speed he has for a prop means he is always going to make the advantage line. I think people forget how young he is too, we should be tying him down for another 3 years.

Him and the walnes have always had the potential, but werent helped by hariss' tactics of playing dirty.

| Good point on A.Walne. Last night was his first real mature performance in a Salford shirt. No stupid penalties, just aggression and tough tackling. We've all known he has it in his game it has just never been coached out of him.

| I hold my hands up I doubted he would be a prop but if last nights performance was a yard stick I'm wrong, very very wrong.

[iSteady on.The Walnuts have one good game in God knows how many games and now they're heroes, Good grief lets hope they've turned the corner otherwise they'll be remembered as one game wonders. Lets see how they perform through the rest of the season. One good game and people start masturbating. Gee whiz. This season is their last chance saloon anyway so its imperative they improve. [/i
