Well done Neil on his appointment.
Neil used to write for MEN and was famous for his (allegedly) bullet point type articles.
He was supposedly sacked by the MEN but apparently had a job lined up in return for favourable articles.
Sources say Neil is glad to have moved on as he felt he was under pressure to actually write an article and he allegedly spoke to a lawyer from Leeds who told him that was not his job and he may have a good claim.
Informed sources are rumoured to think he may have got his inside information from social media.
It is rumoured that Neil had a fallout with Reds owner.
Neil used to have a close relationship with Marwan Koukash.
Other rumours are that Neil, no longer had the support of the editors and looked elsewhere.
Neil has been linked to various Australian clubs but his friends say he wants to stay closer to home in the NW.
Sorted say that Neil may take a position close to Manchester while he considers his options.
Sources say he has signed for Leigh but Brisbane may be an option and also been lined to Leeds, Wigan, Sydney.......
Sources say a move to RU is a possibility.
Close friends have claimed that Neil is able to write a paragraph, but other sources confirm this is untrue.
Neil enjoys and talks about golf more than
rugby.'"
Update: insiders say that Neil and Derek are now considering legal action and have instructed lawyers to consider how they may sue for facts and rumours.
Apparently Derek and Neil have the same Leeds based lawyer who has pointed out that much like (some MEN) articles, rumour, conjecture or suggestions are not libel.
Allegedly the same Leeds based lawyer lost a few recent employment cases and is rumoured to regret representing certain RL players on a no win no fee basis.
I may have asked the MEN to comment on their opinion of bullet point journalists, but allegedly the have yet to comment.
When asking an anonymous fan they said;
"What an a•••••••, who knows nothing about rugby, who couldn't write an article to save their f@@@@@@ life. Did he really get paid for the s***?"
The well respected journalist has taken a PR job at the Leigh Centurions who despite lots of expectation and hype failed drastically in their attempt to move to Super League.
It is expected that Neil, in his new position, will be able to hype Leigh up even more, but doubts remain if a team of Salford rejects are the way to SL.
Time will tell.
