He had a dream debut but he was very average after that. His defence was very suspect.

I think that's a myth. He was injured throughout his stay with us and he we not been desperate he wouldn't have played for about the first month. His defense was better than Wello's, who never even got to the tackles never mind missed them. He dealt with the high ball superbly and did pull off several very good tackles. His support play is very good and he looks as if he could play 6 or 7 just as well. I don't see Jack Owens as an improvement over him.

Not sure he'd be worth a punt on the quota just to be "back up", recruited well for the back line but I still fear were light for FB cover if Niall becomes unavailable.

What about the lad who played for the U19s last season..? He looked a decent player from the games i watched.....Good organiser, good under the high ball, good in defence and could also kick goals from everywhere. Be good to have another 1 from the youth coming through along with Bibby, Lannon and Wood etc....
