Quote: Original Salford City Red "Ave It,you always put is as you see it and most of the regulars will feel the same about our club.
Before Marwan came on board we had 30+years of mis-management with the youth/academy set up so 3 years is a pretty short time to sort things out.
There have been several mistakes made and Marwan has been given some poor/bad advice over matters that he entrusted to others and he has made a rod for his own back by his use of social media and his unusual press conferences but if he had not come on the scene this topic would not have be aired because the club wouldn't be around to pass comment on.
Back to the academy set up ,I agree that off what I know Alan Hunte did a great job for many years with little resources and it appears that currently the resources have increased over many areas but improvement is still required, hopefully this will be addressed quickly.'"
I agree that 3 years isn't a long time in the grand scheme of things, but surely we should have seen some (if only slight improvements), but we haven't. If anything it's got worse. To have our academy side in tier 2 in his first year and maybe even his second or 3rd would have been acceptable if we could see things getting better and the academy set up was moving forward. For it to be at the end of his 3rd year (going into the 4th by the time next season comes around), shows that the club is going backwards and not forwards. Its just another body blow in a massive line of body blows.
As for not having a club. I don't buy into we would have had club, maybe not in the top flight (ok definitely not in the top flight), but we would have survived. It wouldn't have been a very nice existence, but neither is this to be honest.
All I want like everyone else that supports Salford is to see light at the end of the tunnel, Marwan provided this when he first took over. I'm afraid now I've come to the conclusion the man is nothing but a buffoon.
Anyway happy Friday, I'm off for a pint.
