Quote DEVILS2015="DEVILS2015"I can't be the only person on this forum that is sick the death of the constant moaning from Salford supporters about the Stadium.
The only thing I can agree with is that the carpark is an absolute joke to get out of after games. Some of you may have seen today that the new road will be completed by Spring 2016 (More info on AJ Bell Website). To my understanding that will increase the ways to get out of the Stadium by 4-fold and therefore problem solved.
I think we have to look at the current situation at Salford as a 5 year plan. We were having a fantastic season before all these injuries and suspensions came along and we would still be in the top 4 if it wasn't for our misfortunes. We will get stronger and stronger as years go by and the foundations get put into place. The area around the stadium will have a completely different feel to it in the next 2/3 years too.
I personally believe the main issue with the stadium is the lack of atmosphere at Home games and this is something where us the fans can make a huge difference. I urge all die-hard supporters to move into the East stand for the Warrington game and together we can recreate The Shed. Rugby League is such a better game viewed from the sides and we could also have some banter with the away supporters too.
If we keep doing what we are doing we are going to keep getting what we are getting!'"
I couldn't agree more, the Willows was a spiritual home but if people too their Red Devils tinted specs of they'd remember the high instances of cars getting broken into, p!ssing into a bit of guttering in the open air, rust showers in the shed when a ball hit it, crumbling terraces and Norman Collier on the sound system.
Granted I don't live that far away, but the first time I went too a game and it took longer to get there I changed travel plans and have since never really had any problems, people who get stuck in rush hour traffic every single day make allowances not because they want to but because they have too, if you want to go to a game of rugby and know getting to and from it is slightly problematical you plan around it not leave it till the death and blame the stadium for your own lack of foresight.
When the new pub is built on site it will offer another reason for people to get to the ground early, at the Leigh game the other week the restaurant/pub just outside was rammed and it just showed me what this new place at the stadium will be like, we will also I'm convinced see the game day experience change at the stadium as they will lose money hand over fist to this new place.
As for the atmosphere inside the ground I'm not convinced being stood down the side will improve it, people just need to make more noise.
Maybe a Warringtonesque drum or a return of giving the kids those free clackers again
