With Dr Marwan Koukash poised to lead Salford Red Devils into a bright new future it's great to see Salford City FC on the brink of a similar change of fortune given the likely forthcoming investment of Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs and a number of other players of the 'Class of 92'. There's hopefully going to be some great times ahead for both Salford teams which should put the City well and truly on the sporting map.

A change of name and a move from Moor Lane? Good luck to them, but they're not the first team to try this and it's not worked out anywhere else, yet. I can't understand being happy in dropping your heritage in the chase for glory, but each to their own.

According to Miss Chairman not all of that press release is true. They’re currently preparing an official statement which should be an interesting read.

Good news for Salford this. They deserve it after years of little or no interest from the Salford public. Good time for the local non league scene with the new FCUM stadium coming along nicely.
