Lee is a cracking footballer. His kicking in the first half was sublime at times.

He's not a fullback though and probably never will be. Nobby needs to bite the bullet and give him a chance at six.

But if he is away to Leeds next season then why bother?

If he's staying, then surely it must be as a half-back not as a full back, in which case I agree with you.

The thing is how many half backs do we need? Sneyd and Fages are both under contract as are McGoldrick and Foran (unfortunatley) who can play there. IF rumours are right are right, and Chase and/or Dobson are coming, do we need another half back? I'd rather see McGoldrick or Foran go, as Gaskell looks the better player, but circumstances may not be right for him to stay. This might explain why he is being given a shot at fullback.

As a Saints fan I am a bit shocked. I cant see Leeds signing a guy who struggles with the defensive side of the game. On Friday it was the usual Gaskell for me the pretty bits kicking at every opportunity and draw and give yeah he is ok but he is never a good player.

He has been played out of position for us, but even so he looks very average. Needs sending back to saints at end of season of wherever. Not what we're looking for IMHO
