I never complain to a broadcaster but that shambles made my blood boil so I did complain to dear old Auntie Beeb
Heres the reply.....
The best part of the reply is the 36 Hours live coverage in 2013.
Woopee fkin doo

Thanks for getting in touch with us regarding Richard Bacon’s BBC Radio 5 Live programme, broadcast on Monday 22nd April.
We note you feel the quality of the Rugby League cup draw was poor and comments made by Richard could be seen as offensive to fans.
The team have asked us to personally thank you for getting in touch and to assure you that BBC Radio 5 Live and sister station BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra are absolutely committed to coverage of Rugby League.
They explain that thus far in 2013, the stations have broadcast some 36 hours of live coverage of the sport and that they’ve secured the rights to broadcast this year’s World Cup with an aim to offer live coverage of all 28 matches.
BBC Radio 5 Live’s commitment to the sport was further demonstrated by their desire to undertake the Challenge Cup fifth round draw live on air from our Salford studios on Monday.
However, the team responsible do acknowledge in light of your points that they didn’t get the tone of the draw right on air.
The team have discussed this with Richard Bacon himself along with his production team and Richard acknowledges that he got the tone wrong thus he apologises to listeners as he genuinely didn’t mean to upset any Rugby League fans.
Thank you again for getting in touch and allowing us to investigate your concerns with the team directly involved, and to respond.
We very much hope that you will feel reassured as to the BBC’s on-going commitment to Rugby League across BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra, and that you will agree that we have taken your points on board.
We appreciate your concerns on this matter and would like to assure you that we’ve registered your concerns on our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback that's made available to many BBC staff, including our Executive Board and senior management.
The audience logs are seen as important documents that can help shape decisions about future programming and content.
Thanks again for taking the time to contact us.
Kind Regards
Robin MacDonald

I was pulled apart on my own board so a silly insult from someone in Belgium is hardly going to change my opinion.

This country is turning into whiny little scroats, offended by everything and constantly complaining about the most insignificant things, things that shouldn't matter. Bacon didn't know Boston and someone said a wrong number.
Meanwhile Syria and countless other countries kill its citizens, banks rob people dry, people stab each other on the streets and the real governments are businesses buying politicians to screw the working man over.
We're turning into a nation of scousers ffs moaning about everything and trying to get attention for it.

Poetic stuff for a Tuesday.

I'm outraged by your rant. So offended I might write to my useless MP.

Think you should just...

Quote: Horatio Yed "Really? you bothered writing in to the Beeb to complain over 'a draw'.

I bet your family love you and your enthusiasm for life.

You wasted your life and felt angry over that, k'in hell now you've no reason to moan about the dire state of your club you resort to boring the pants off BBC R5 team.'"

You didn't hear the draw being made but chose to not only post on a number of occasions on the Warrington board but now you come onto this board. Is that not a waste of your life ?
There were a number of complaints which resulted in an apology from the BBC.

No surprise you were 'pulled apart' on your own board with your condescending attitude - unlike Warrington followers !
Just as I couldn't prevent Iraqui children and babies being killed and certain politicians benefitting from the oil in that country, complaints about the BBC to the BBC sometimes yield results. In this case the same thing won't happen again.
Job done. So,perhaps not such a waste of time.
I did not inform the BBC of my displeasure.

A.Marshall:

The complaint to the BBC was correct. Until they realise that the cheap and glib way it was handled actually means something to people they will never move to improve it. Well do for complaining I say.

I’ve not taken much notice of this story and I missed the draw live but does anyone know whether it was the BBC’s decision to put the draw on Bacon’s show? And whether the RFL had a say in the matter? For starters, there was always a good chance the draw would be a bit of a farce because of Bacon’s style. Also, the first round draw of this year’s Snooker World Championships was live on the Hawksbee and Jacobs show on TalkSport. There was a bit of comedy during it, as you’d expect with them, but I thought it was still respectable. So this could be a trend — it’s not far fetched that the RFL nay have been advised by PR consultants to allow this.
