Wasn't the majority of license applications from all clubs the same, Bradford, Wakefield, Castleford, London to name just a few, most groups whether they are a business or a community group if they are applying for either a license or funding they will be all aspirational with grand quotes to get the interest. I am sure if I penned a bid that was full of negatives and stating that we would be unable to fulfil any part of what the funder wants, they are not going to give you money. It is simple if you want something you will blow your own trumpet to get it.

I am sorry but I have to disagree. I was on a flight over the summer and got talking to a bloke from Bristol (with family in the region) sat next to me and he asked where I lived. I told him where I lived (not Barton) and much to my surprise he said that's near the new Salford rugby stadium isn't it? In my view a prominent location can only help promote the name of Salford City Reds going forward. In fairness I could not imagine this same responce if Salford had moved to another new stadium in the same location as before.

Assuming the figures are right, I really don't see what the issue with it is. I live in Stretford. No one who I know in the area really knows or even cares in the slightest about rugby league. When we played at The Willows I would tell friends that we played in Weaste and they wouldn't have any idea where the place was. I've told a lot of people about the new ground since we've moved and most of them have known where it is, have driven past the new ground and have at least expressed some interest in going to see a game there. The real problem is giving people the incentive to actually get down, something which is difficult given recent lack of success and the current plight the team faces.
