It's up to Paul or any testimonial player in any sport to choose their own Testimonial commitee, whether that be club officials, employees, agent, players, fans or friends and family.
It's up to the commitee to approach and arrange a convenient date for a testimonial game at the club. It is also the responsibilty of the player/commitee to approach the opposing team and get them to agree to play. (For those who don't know this is how testimonial games work) It's never the clubs who organise testimonial matches its always the commitee. If the initial date was not convenient on Mr McRae's say so (Assuming the post I read above is accurate) then its up to the comittee chairperson to further discuss with both clubs a date that is.
