| Quote: Salford red all over "I get what your trying to say kind of but not all of what you say adds up, for instance Crusaders had no team no kit no coach no ground and managed to finish the season in the eight, so seasoned pro's don't always need time to gel. Correct. Crusaders bucked the trend. But one example of such an occurance is hardly a damning argument.
As for over achieving going into round 27 with the spoon hanging over us was hardly over achieving, we could have run in last with ease !! If you were aware, which you're clearly not, of the size of the Salford budget for players, you'd recognise that we've over-achieved. That is, if it's accepted that the amount you spend on players has a direct influence on the quality of squad you have. (remember the against column)
Better training facilities/Nutrition I would need evidence of that ? the top four but not the rest.Had a pal who worked with the first team. Trust me, the facilities and nutrition deal are far from the required standard of a pro RL club in the 21st century. Of course, I can't provide evidence of this so feel free to disregard my comment.
I think the 9 or so coming in are far better than the 9 or so leaving, massively in some cases, not to mention there is every likelihood of having one or more grand final winners and a challenge cup winner this year.I wouldn't say that man for man, all 9 are better. They're definitely an improvement collectively. I read a Warrington fans view on our squad which said with some luck and the right coaching (the difficult bit) we may even make the four. Yeah, you'd most probably find that a lot of Wire fans predicted that they'd win Super League this year. Now thats optomistic but there is no reason we can't run in at 6 or 7 and be competitive in every game and stand a chance of winning instead of wondering how many over the 50 we will take. Sure, we can be competitive in most games but I wouldn't say every game. Although I fully expect this to be the case by 2012.
IMO of co .
My prediction, all factors and not just the improvement of the squad considered, we'll finish 8th. Still a long way to go but moving in the right direction.
Apologies for deviating.
Phil Veivers. Erm, don't know enough about him to comment on him.

I'd tell you that he was a fantastic player in a Saints shirt but as I "clearly know nothing" about a team overachieving that could have finished last on round 27, then said club maybe should have at least used all the money allocated from sky.

I suggest that you're not aware of how small the clubs budget for players has been in the last 2 years and you think I've accused you of knowing nothing at all? Wow!
