| I have a great deal of respect for SM - his integrity, honesty and knowledge of the game present a shining example to all up and coming young coaches. Although success has eluded him in latter years much of that has, I feel, been due to the quality of the squad that he has had at his disposal. I agree that next season he should be able to do much better and I admire your club for supporting him. If he cannot improve to your satisfaction then maybe it will be time for a change. But that would be a sad day for the game and for a true gentleman of rugby league.

| As for S McRae, well, as much as I shouted him in and truly thought that he was a big name coach who would inspire our squad, he's blatantly failed to do so.
That being said, to question his tenure, particularly after this weeks signings, and before he's had a chance to mould this squad, is a little premature.

| I think SS has certainly pulled a rabbit out of the hat with the current batch of signings, his previous efforts have been a bit hit and miss when you look back through the years but certainly ive been impressed the fact our "business" has been done during the season and not in November and december and even january sometimes.
I think SM has had his hand tied with the players he's had to play with over the last few years with players who perhaps dont have enough quality to move the team to the next level.
New blood coming in with the experience and skill @ playing and playing well @ superleague should hopefully see a better brand of rugby and more success in the future

| With the exception of the odd hiccup I personally believe Simmsy has come up with some excellent signings for us. Stapleton, Wilshire, Big Phil, Cashmere, Henry, Holdsworth, Rutgo, Dunneman, Robinson, Broughton, Gibson and certainly not forgetting Dodgy Hodgy are all prime examples. Even Sibbit was class when he first arrived. That more than makes up for the Dorn, Tyrer and J. Smith type players we've we've been lumbered with.
At least he hasn't signed us Carrige!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shaun McRae should be given another season, he's had many players who barely up to SL standard to work with in his time at Salford, so lets see what he can do with some better class players. Not performing to the teams full potential last season is probably more down to the whole Floridagate incident and it hurt the club really badly.
I would like Betts to come coach as a second assistant and hopefully one day take over the helm. Just think what he could teach our young forwards!!!!!!

| Eh? What's going on here? This board isn't intended for positive comments about the coaching staff.
You know the drill: Shaun McRae doesn't know any modern coaching methods, has lost the dressing room, the players don't want to play for him, spends more time commentating on Sky than he does coaching and isn't even human. He's a slug.
Steve Simms. We don't know what he does, but we know he does it badly. And he has holidays in Australia.
Come on people. Get with the programme!
