| very well put corvospace.
I think the problem was not in the hammering on the pitch but the attitude of the players to the fans after the match. Those who were there sang for 2 hours solid and really did Salford proud. We easily outsang Wire for the whole 80 mins. If we recreate half the atmosphere against Saints next week i will be happy.
Not acknowledging the fans afterwards gives a poor message to the fans and goes against the hard work the club is trying to do off the pitch.
Will be there singing loudly against Saints, but think the players should look at themselves long and hard about why they put on a Salford shirt.

| Holdsworth is a class act, and a player that I would be making a big effort to keep at the club. If his way of trying to deal with defeat is to get off the pitch as soon as he can then I can live with that as long as he's putting the effort in on the park.

Absolutely spot on Iain.
Perhaps DH is that deflated after such a loss, he just wants to get away. I can sort of understand that. He's a pro and they all have certain ways of dealing with the highs and lows.

| Post-match appreciation of fans is a tricky one when we've been beated heavily - if the players trudge off, heads hung, or storm off in anger/frustration then they get criticised for not acknowledging the fans; if they come over to clap the crowd they get abuse and comments like "[iCheeky gets, coming over to us, expecting us to clap them after that[/i?!"
As a fan, I'm not sure which one I prefer. Equally, I don't really care to be honest. Whether a player comes over to clap at me after a game is definitely NOT a factor that I would consider when deciding whether I thought he deserved a new contract or not?!

| So he's a competitive guy. He obviously hates losing. It's a pity a lot of other players don't have the same attitude.
Chances of him staying at Salford? Very little, unfortunately.

| Its not so much that Holdsworth didn't come over to clap the fans that got on my goat. Its the fact that the team all got in a huddle at the end of the game and Holdsworth was the only player not in it. Ok we lost and lost badly and even though things are crap at the moment seeing one player (Our best player as well) just walk away from the rest of the team is really really worrying.

| The Ozzies are bred that winning is the only way, a huge loss like that would have probably been a first for Holdsworth and something he was embarrased and angry about.
Getting in a huddle with a load of players he probably felt did not play to a standard he expects would have been the last thing on his mind.
