FWIW I think Smith has been disappointing,but he's not as bad as people try to make out.Part of this is I suppose because fans see him keeping Ratchford from the stand-off position,but that is McRae's decision,whether you agree with it or not.
If you were serious with your "ratings",then to give Smith 1/10 on last night's game suggests you ARE treating him as this seasons scapegoat.

Just a couple of things here. I have not seen our lads live this season, so I know I might just take some flak for my opinions.

It just goes to show how team/fans can be up and down within a very short space in time. If you look at Littlers stats they are anything but rubbish.

He has notched quite a few points up for us through thick and thin.

Also, I think if we're honest about our season so far, we may have settled for some of the results that we have achieved and even the league position we are currently in with hindsight.

If we REALLY take a good look at SL in general you would have to say that every team is searching for consistency: Leeds away, Hull FC away, Saints at home.

Every week there is an "upset".

It's easy to target players that are not in the limelight and that seem to be overlooked despite their endeavours for our club, but I suppose that is why we're fans and they are players/coaches.

RL is (on paper) a simple game with basic objectives: but as we can see week in and week out there is a must win mentality that sometimes rubs us "old uns" and losing supporters up the wrong way.

I think that what has made RL a "progressive" sport is the way we have embraced "change".

Oh, and by the way: leave Stu Littler alone, he is an honest hard working player. It's not up to us to decide whether he's good enough: that's what the coaching staff get paid for.

I'm really sick of the negative attitudes on our board!!

Actually for the first 24 minutes I thought Smith was excellent ... that missed tackle seemed to stop this and I wonder if the criticism is subjectivly getting to him. If it is, and I support Salford and therefore all players, I'll give him 100%

Littler just isnt SL standard and is exactly the sort of player we need to get rid of in order to progress.

Lets be honest about this , I`m pretty sure Stuart has kept his place place in the the team this season due injury problems we`ve had.
I expected him to off the bench etc . I`ll concede he`s not the the most talented player we have in the team but you know what your going to get, he is commited and plays to the best of his ability.
AS for JS, there`s something wrong , you give players a chance and its not happening for him I`m afraid, he occupies a crucial position in the Salford team and he has been shown how to do it by two young lads.,
He needs to be in the reserves asap

BD You are correct in every way, the people who are having a go at Stuart Littler are not interested in what he is doing, they are only interested in having their usual scapegoat.

With regards Jeremy Smith many of the people who are not satisfied with his performances could have come(but didn't) to the Forever Reds meeting last Monday and if they had have done I would have more time for them.

He and the other players came, listened and answered every question honestly to the satisfaction of everyone there and they know that they can and should do better.

As I have said previously to physically abuse any player , his family, or club officials in the manner that a small number have been doing is a disgrace and the club would be better off without them.

This small minority are spoiling it for all the other fans who are more loyal and passionate but can control the way that they handle the knock backs that we will always take throughout the season.

Re JS If could have made the meeting I would have asked him pretty much the same questions as JR which he posted on another thread.
I have no doubt the players answered the questions posed openly and for that I admire them.

Thought Stu did pretty much what was asked of him on Friday Night, considering he was thrown in earlier than anticipated due to the injury to Adamson. I am not a huge fan of his skill levels etc but I am appreciative of his attitude. He always tries his best and was always willing to make the hard yards.
Lets all remember we have a small squad , our 1st choice backline Fitzpatrick , White , Talau is out , and we even lost our loan signing Goulding and have had Steph deputizing at centre when we all known his best position , Stu has been asked to fill in Winger , Centre & 2nd Row. knowing his abilities over his ten years with us who is expecting more ?
