| I’m not sure if this has been mentioned before, but….
Given that C4 is wholely funded though adverts has anyone got any idea how this is going to work for games?
Would we be happy to accept “in game” adverts, say during stoppages for kicks for goal, kick offs etc?
It doesn’t seem feasible for C4 to show the game uninterrupted due to loss of revenue.
Thoughts?

| I assume we'll just a big barrage before and after the game and at half time just like on ITV whenever they show England football games.

| Works fine for the rugby union.
No interruption of the play.
We should home lots of premium advertisers want that space. It increases our value to a broadcaster.

Really unsure why you would think this would happen. There is not going to be adverts in game outside of half time.

Premium? The demographic watching will need to change to get premium advertisers.

| There's surely an opportunity for subliminal advertising at every play the ball. Just flash a picture of a car for half a second. Sure some people will become ill from the constant flashing, but some others will go buy a car.

I bet there are people at Channel 4 lamenting at how far they have fallen from the heady days of Kabaddi. They've somehow bought an even more niche sport so I can't imagine there'll be complaints. Yes technically subliminal advertising has been illegal since 1957, but whoever is the new host of Ch4s RL could whisper "Buy Grolsch" whenever there's a scrum. In return Grolsch will put "Rugby League is alright I suppose" on 2 lorries.

| I have only watched the first 5 minutes of the programme and it has done more for RL tan SKY have in the last 30 years.
Two presenters who are personable intelligent and professional and two pundits who you can understand what they say as well as being controversial and informed.
Leon Pryce in his second sentence says , “it is a much better faster game than RU”.
That one sentence made more sense than anything JJB said in the last two nights.
Channel 4 seem to want RL and SKY want to marginalise it.

Kinda strange you excluded the BBC and there promotion of rugby league. Also let's see how much C4 want rugby league when someone has the balls to reveal what was paid for the 10 games.
I know you are excited about the C4 coverage but saying it has done more for the sport than Sky has for 30 years is way OTT.

30 years ago RL was a pretty big sport.
Sky pumped money in but then messed it around in terms of when games were played which massively undermined some clubs .
It presented the game in flat ,parochial manner and never invested in presentation or selling the Game ( there were odd highlights with some of the adverts ie with Bradley Wiggins)
( all of that was compounded by the ridiculous RFL, super league chairmen, IRLF, and probably made worse by the clubs themselves) in the last 15 years RL has gone backwards year on year, crowds publicity money everything.
Tell me how having JJB does anything for presenting RL to new people or opening up to casual fans .
SKY want to get RL as cheap as possible and it really feels like they are happy to run it down to help with that
I take your point about the BBC

| So far so good, for me.
Kyle Amor has had some serious media training, hasn't he?! He sounds like an accomplished commentator.
Getting Adam Hills involved was a master stroke. An entertainer first and foremost but with a solid interest and knowledge of the game.
I'd got a bit tired of watching the games on Sky and have only really tuned in for a couple of Wakefield games a season in recent years. Channel 4's coverage has reinvigorated my TV viewing.
