| Whilst promotion of the game is a good thing, is there any cash in it for the clubs?

Yes a "Six figure sum" has been reported so a minimum of £100,000 to be shared but hopefully a lot more.

Possibly you should wait to see. Before using your calculator. The fact they are investing rather than taking something for free is a bonus to the sport.

Only rugby league would see someone paying an absolute pittance as a win

Your comment carries no weight with me. Your alliance obviously doesn’t sit in this game. Possibly try another forum that will.

| Likely that any dividends from the Premier Sports share in Monday night R.L will be lost or more than lost in none attendance at the stadium gates !!! There's enough don't like Thursday night's & Monday night's up against Premier League football is a loser !

There's an interesting article regarding RU Premiership attendances being down over their opening weekends, plus the loss of their Ch5 highlights programme.
Seems no matter how passionate a supporter base might feel, it just doesn't grasp a wider viewing audience in significant numbers, and therefore, in context with Championship RL, you can see how hard it might be to squeeze much money out of a broadcasting deal:

Mate, a six figure sum was quoted and that could at worst be £100,000
It could also "at best" be £999,999 ..............................................
The championship went without SKY TV money for many many years, only this last deal gave them a cut of the money, so at least they will still get TV funding. It seems the big "Jaysus" hit is on the League one clubs....... https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/rugby-le ... g-24938063

| The live TV model is reaching the end of it's lifespan IMO. Only PL football seems to be bucking the trend, but there's even talk that broadcasting rights have peaked for them too.
RL really needs to start looking at alternative options like streaming services. Obviously, it won't be easy, but it seems clear to me that we won't be seeing the kinds of TV deals that were getting thrown around 5 to 10 years ago again.

| Yep, even live PL football got a rude awakening when it tried its PPV model last season, which was hastily rejected by fans

They were trying to charge for individual games on top of subscriptions though. If we gave a % of games to Amazon Prime for example, I don't think we would have many issues.
Well, apart from RL fans will moan about anything and everything.

| DZNE have bought BT sport, and seem to be wanting to expand, so they they could be another option in the future.
I actually wouldn't mind if Amazon ended up showing SL games. It's far cheaper than sky.
