| I understand that Feath say it happened outside the ground but washing your hands of it isn't either possible or morally correct. Most schools could say the same thing about bad behaviour beyond the gates, but plenty will actually take a firm stance.

| It’s always Widnes. They did it at Hull, Wire, Wakey, and obviously the semi final against Cas.

| I work with a Featherstone fan who saw some of the incidents on Post Office Road. While he couldn't say who or what started the fighting he did say it was in his words the "usual small group of our supporters" who were involved. He had seen them at away games in the past, Knows a couple of them by name and as one of them is in his mid 20's he said he should "start to grow up".
What he felt was even worse was fans being targeted as they attempted to drive away from the ground. An argument between a Featherstone fan on foot and a Widnes fan in a car resulted in the driver of the car having his glasses grabbed from his face and smashed on a nearby wall. That would be a tricky and dangerous journey home for that driver and other road users near him.
All clubs have their small group of numpties, mix that with too much beer and god knows what else and it leads to unsavoury incidents. You would think being able to attend matches again everybody would be thankful and would behave.

I've been to football when hundreds of lads have been goading each other and it's ended up in running battles, but I've been to hundreds of RL matches and only seen pre-planned trouble break out once and it was at POR in the late 1970's. It was a big challenge cup game and a group of thugs in Fev gear were waiting on the corner of POR for a smaller vulnerable group of away fans. They found that group and chased them down POR with punches and kicks.
Everyone could see and smell that trouble, that I only saw that once and never again at POR as the thugs weren't regular fev fans, but in this instance it seems real fans know who these thugs are, and could easily I.D. them but somehow it seems the club doesn't want to know, when they can have their heads on a plate.....

That's interesting that you say that because my only experience of genuine violence at Rugby was my dad coming home from POR with blood all over him where he'd been chased down. You'll just have to take my word for it, but there's no way he would ever look for a fight. For me to remember it, it must have been early 80s, and as he describes it, despite being a Feath v Northern game, it was actually a bunch of Leeds fans that stood over him protecting him.

| The video footage I've seen shows mainly men/boys in flat caps punching & kicking someone on the ground.
Now then, which group of supporters is famous for wearing flat caps & causing trouble I wonder ?

| All quiet on Fev social media platforms, the club etc. Hopefully the club are looking into it.

Sounds like the same group of idiots who spout some vile tweets on social media. That included some horrible stuff about the Fax fan who was left severely injured after the final in 2010.
Its not all Fev fans, but there is a small, nasty element which thinks it's can do what it wants. They need weeding out as these "instances" are becoming more common and it won't be long before it ends in more serious circumstances.
