| Ex St Helens star centre has been inducted into the immortals which is a massive step up from the “hall of fame” it’s a lucrative group with exclusive membership. It’s great to see English rugby league represented in it

| British RL represented ? They ignored it as per usual.
The judges chose to overlook Brian Bevan, the greatest try-scorer in history, which is an absolute joke. I'll bet only Ian Heads voted for him.
796 tries in 688 games wasn't good enough seemingly - and they can't say 'it was only in England' when our game was far stronger than theirs throughout his playing era.

| Judges probably didn’t realise he played for St Helens and just assumed he was out injured during that time.

Brian Bevan might get it next time (in 2 years). The judges went overboard in unprecedentedly adding 5 names this time, including 3 pre-World War II. It is usually only 2 names each round. But I hope that Brian Bevan will get it next time.

Actually it has been a quite haphazard procedure but the induction of immortals will stabilise from now.
1981 4 inductees.
1999 2 inductees.
2003 1 inductee.
2012 1 inductee.
2018 5 inductees.
!981 was the start of the process and only included players post WW2 and last night was a catch up to include' Hall of Famers ' from the start of Aus rugby league in 1908.
With you on the comment regarding Brian Bevan. He was was named in the Australian team of the century(1908-200icon_cool.gif even though he never played for them and is the only player named in both the English and Aus Hall of Fame.

You're having a laugh aren't you? St Helens probably didn't even warrant a sentence in his life story. His stay there was the equivalent of taking a break at a motorway service station.

The now immortal Mal Meninga produced a man of the match performance by leading St Helens to a lancashire cup final victory against bitter rivals wigan on their home turf. To this day I think David Stephenson is still trying to escape Mal's pocket

Doesn’t matter immortally his spell at Saints will last forever, as for the man himself he quite often visits the Saints club every couple of years. Gave an inspirational talk when we played the Goons at home, so Saints was a chapter in his life rather than a sentence by the envious.

Do your research LJ
English rugby has been represented from the first person in the Australian Immortals
Bobby Fulton played for Warrington
Wally Lewis played for Wakefield Trinity
Arty Beetson played for Hull KR
Andrew Johns played for Warrington
Dave Brown played for Warrington (I didn't know that one myself)
And all of the immortals have been here on tours obviously which enhanced their reputations.
But this is a vote for Australian Immortals so why would they pick someone based on the time in England anyway?

I was there. He was unstoppable that day.
There was no reason to have anyone in his pocket. He just brushed them off.

| Mal is a legend no doubt desrves to be an immortal, power pace, but good hands and a bit of guile as well.
Beven probably should be in too, his day will probably come.

I was there too. One good game. They give out legendary status far too easily on the other side of the hill.

It was a fantastic display wasn’t it. He made Wigan look like mugs!
