Today’s a bad day. The real Roy Haggerty has passed away at a ridiculously early age. My admiration for him as a player is obvious. He was my favourite Saint when I first fell in love with the game. A sad loss.

I can still remember his image of socks rolled down, one knee bandaged up, craggy face as though he's just run through a brick wall, Sad Loss, was a nice bloke off the field as well.

Great player, always gave 100%, small by today's standards yet as tough as they came.
I remember in the 1989 Cup final he was in the losing Saints side. Despite them getting drubbed he never stopped putting his hand up for the ball, even after making mistakes he never hid when others in that side with bigger reputations went missing completely.
