| Good. Assaulting a police officer is a heinous crime as is driving at speeds of 150 mph

| "he was Tasered six times but "kept rising to his feet to fight and charge at officers".
At one point, the former St Helens, Widnes and Wakefield hooker grabbed the Taser's wires after being stunned and removed them from his body.
He then grabbed the Taser in a "tug of war" with the officer, shouting: "You're getting it now!" while pointing it at the officer's face, police said."

| Bizarre how many RL players never grow up, but just get older while staying as stupid as they were when 14.

Utterly moronic, if this was in the US he'd be dead by now.

Good point he would and who could argue.
Fantastic player but this is beyond the pale, 2 years is nowhere near enough.

Mentioned this on the TRL forum, in all my years (got to read something on your commute) reading it never seen RL mentioned, not even when the CC is at Wembley.
On the plus side it only mentioned RL once and the headline simply said "Rugby" so there is a slight advantage to nobody knowing the difference.

| I found it hilarious that they banned him from driving for 2 years yet sent him down for nearly that...unless the ban starts upon his release of course.

It was my thinking with regards to Malc Alker as it was clear that he was having problems in life as far back as being a Salford player with addiction to pain killers then problems with depression after retiring.
I don't remember saying i felt sorry for him.
Why generalise a whole forum and every rugby league player over something you read once? I genuinely felt the signs for Alker were the same as that i've seen of the likes of Terry Newton. One turned to crime, one turned to suicide.
That doesn't mean this whole forum thinks like that about the lot of them... but who knows. Maybe mental health issues are more of an issue with people who do things like this than society realises. And possibly instead of calling people with mental health issues "thick" "thugs" society should take it more seriously and be more concerned with how to tackle the issues rather than sticking a label on people to keep them at arms length.
Of course some people are genuinely just thugs who enjoy being thugs and should be locked up. Doesn't mean everyone is like that though.

| Do you reckon that the policeman with the taser shouted 5th and last before he shot the sixth?
On a serious note, that sentence seems extremely light for the number of offences that will have committed.

Generalising? Since when is the word SOME the same as ALL?
Knowing a bit about depression and bi-polar to me the acts of the likes of Chase and most of the other RL players incl Moore is not a simple mental health issue, it's more of a simple I don't give a flying fig of a wrong un. You could define that as a mental problem but then we might as well excuse murderers, rapists, paedophiles and all sorts on the basis of not straight cognitive thinking
I called him a moron, for the act, I never said he was thick or a thug, his act WAS moronic, he endangered others lives, he then violently resisted arrest threatening to harm a police officer.
Do you think this is a mental health issue or do you think this is the act of a moron who doesn't give a flying f@@k about anyone except himself?

Reminds me of when we were to taken to court from school, as public observers. Part educational, part warning I guess. The lawyer for one of the defendants noted that he (the defendant) hadn't been in trouble with the police for nearly three years, as mitigation. Which seemed pretty weak to me in itself. The judge or magistrate (school was a long time ago!) then pointed out that the defendant had been in prison for the first two of those years and the plea for leniency was rejected. I'm still curious to know whether the lawyer was just a bit hopeless or whether it was a tactic that sometimes worked.

That's correct - the ban will commence upon his release from prison.
The boy is a fool with a track record of criminality and violence. And as if we needed more evidence of his moronic mindset, his girlfriend is pregnant.
