But if you did want to weigh in with your two cents worth and defend rugby league as it really doesn't do the best to stand up for itself sometimes.
I know it's only wikipedia, but we shouldn't let the world's oldest club rugby trophy be supplanted by an ice hockey trophy.

You're missing the point here I think. Challenge Cup is still affiliated with RL as the primary article. The issue here was that the '1979 Challenge Cup' has two articles (a RL game, and an ice hockey game) it now shows up like this - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1979_Challenge_Cup
Way to make a mountain out of a molehill. Don't you think we have bigger issues?

| Many sports have a challenge cup, it is a fairly ubiquitous term in regard to trophies. The FA cup for example is the Football Association Challenge Cup, it just isn't referred to as the Challenge Cup and it is a good bit older than ours. RU has a Challenge Cup too. Our cup wasn't always referred to as the Challenge Cup. In the early days of the code it was called the Northern Union Cup, on some video footage of old finals it was called the RL Cup. People will call a trophy by the name it is commonly known by and many sports use the same terms. Hardly anything to be bothered about.
