| I'm a Union convert and was wondering about this. Weird question but is there an ideal one?
Watched Saints v Widnes and Hull v Leeds last night. Jordan Lilley stands at 5'9 and Kevin Brown around 6 foot Mark, whereas Jordan Turner and Carlos Tuimavave stand at 6'2.
If a player has the correct skill set, does it matter what physique a player in that position has?

No , although there have been various exceptions over the years the archetypal stand off would have been John Woods , medium height , strong but not carrying excess weight , and skilled with both hand and foot

| Build isn't critical
More important is a burst of speed, kicking game, quick feet, decent passing game but, most importantly, the ability to read the game and enough bottle to take the line on.
Union is far more structured and far less "open" due to how close the defensive line is.

| Look no further than Trent Barrett or Brad Fitler. They should be the blueprint for a stand off and there'll be plenty clips of them on YouTube

| Dan Carter had the perfect build to play 6 in league and would have absolutely ripped it up in league if had fancied to lower his standards
Kind Regards

| There's no perfect build for either stand off of scrum half. It depends on what that players game is based around.
For instance you've got Lee Briers, Kevin Sinfield and Leon Pryce. 3 very different players all with different builds and all with different strengths to their games.

| The other aspect of a League stand of is that they actually need to be able to defend and typically, they will make as many tackles in a game at any Union player.
The Union boys rave about players that have made 15 tackles in a game
