Will there be a fantasy league this year?

Was wondering that myself, especially as the forum now appears to be locked

I appreciate there is a lot of work involved for the organisers, but it will be a great disappointment if this does not happen in 2016. I have found the RLFans fantasy league competition to be the best available that I have found online.

Likewise, although aware it takes a lot of input from the team that run it.

It must be a lot of work for the organisers, and sometimes probably seems a thankless task.
However, there are also plenty here who truly appreciate the effort that they must put in before, during and after each round.
I'd be sorry to see it go.

I am going to answer this and sadly the answer this year is "no there won't be a fantasy league".

My personal workload has been too much over the past month to get it ready, and ss.com's workload won't be resolved until spring. So this year we haven't got one running, as we are pretty much it when comes to coding inputing and checking etc...

It was a difficult decision to make as we know people enjoy playing it.

However, we aim to donate a lot of the money we are not spending on prizes this year to good causes. I know it doesn't make it better for the players missing out, but it is a positive outcome.

We will be re-assessing the situation in the summer with regard to next year, and it depends on time over winter to update the details and the game software I wrote and to ensure we have enough hands on deck to input the statistics throughout the season.

Aww, what happened! I really enjoyed the management game back in the day when I had a bit more free time.

Time running was the main reason it went

But it had a great 6 - 7 Year run


It is back in a different guise - Give it a go it doesn't take much time and see if you can predict your way through each weeks matches and some good prizes on offer too

Time is the biggest factor in these things, updating the code at the start of the season to get it ready, improvments.

Then each week input all the players, update all the scores, whether they played or not, then the games get postponed and that means more code, then you find a player was incorrectly given a score by a news wire and it needs changing..... every player every match every week, it all becomes too much even for a couple of people.
