| Not often I have too much positive to say about the current Sky RL productions, but I really enjoyed that segment with Wells and Brough... Sure Brough isn't probably the best presenter or talker, but the idea behind the segment and how Wells managed it was great!
Wells simply has to be the future of the Sky Sports RL team from those who are currently employed by Sky. The team of Wells and Carney make for a really enjoyable production away from the game - time to elevate these 2 to the main guys.

| Wells & Carney are the best members of the Sky team by an absolute mile.
More of them and less of Barrie & Terry would be great.

| Wells and Carney supported by an expert commentator would completely re-vitalise and even revolutionise Sky's RL productions....
My ideal would be to throw plenty of cash at Dan Ginnane the Triple M NRL caller to take the lead commentator role.

We don't need an Aussie voice on the broadcast, just train up some young generic sports commentator or let Rod Studd do it, he's easily the best lead commentator they have at present.
As for the OP, why Sky persist with the idiotic and stereotypical McDermott and O'Connor over Carney and Wells is beyond me. Two terrible pundits who should be saved for marginal comedy roles or Championship match coverage at best, certainly not live calling important Super League matches.

I'd throw a brick at my TV if Rod Studd got a gig as main presenter for games. Seen him on Backchat thinking he was the star of the show and a platform for him to come up with wild ideas or suggestions whilst interrupting the guests every time they tried to talk. He'd be the worst possible solution.

I'm not talking about him being the "main presenter", I'm talking about him being the lead commentator, he is a fine play-by-play commentator and by far the best they have at present.

This.
Barrie's bad enough but Terry is just awful.

| Have they done it before? That segment was absolutely fantastic. Not sure how it would work if Huddersfield would have lost the game....? Is it more a boots an all feature rather than an after game feature..? Or maybe there is room for both?

| I normally turn my telly off immediately the final whistle blows (unless Wigan have got beat then I like to revel in the pleasure), but as I only caught the last 10 minutes of the game I wanted to catch the highlights. It was probably the best bit of rugby outside of a game I have seen in years.

| Wells offers some fantastic insight into the game, points out the little things that a viewer may miss. Bringing Brough up there to explain how & why we made some of the plays he made was a master stroke.
There are some great things about the SKY coverage, but some blummin awful ones too.

| i like the concept, i love jon wells, him and carney could be the future(carney needs to stop flubbing his lines though) not overly crazy at the amount of pawing at the screen that is going on though.

Same here. Sky+ it then tune in about 30 minutes later to see all the guff, half time waffle etc at X30 speed. Lineker and Co. get the same treatment on Match of the Day.

Unfortunately, I think it's in the job description to talk drivel.

| Absolutely brilliant section, particularly given most RL coverage in this country isn't exactly high grade analysis.

I think it would be worth doing it for both, just have someone from a non-tv game on the Boots and All section. If Huddersfield would have lost, I'd have assumed it would be Luke Walsh doing it maybe?
