Super 8s Fixtures AnnouncedWe already knew who would be playing who, but until this mornings announcement we didnt know when the fixtures would be played.
This morning the RFL and Super League announced the running order for the first six rounds of the Super 8s - Superleague, the first four rounds of the Super 8s - Qualifiers, and all rounds of the Super 8s - Championship Shield.
While still warning that all fixtures are subject to alteration you can be fairly confident in the rounds where the TV matches have been selected.

| Far too many Thursday and Friday night games, but particularly Thursdays . The RFL seem hell bent on turning away younger supporter, those of us who have long journey's to get to and from matches or those with mid week work commitments.
Top level RL needs to be play at weekends not midweek. #NoToThursdayNightRL

Agree 100% Sky are happy to show GAA double headers on Sat Evening so why not a Middle 8 then a Super 8 game....then again if the GAA tried moving big games from the weekend...well it just would not happen and shame the RL have got in the position they are now in where TV calls the shots.

| SKY call the shots and we have to live with it, they are stumping up the cash so it stands to reason.
Not saying i disagree with the above posts, they are quite right, but it will never change whilst SKY have such a strangle hold over the game.

| It needs someone at the RFL to grow a backbone and say our sport our terms. If they let SKY push them around they'll do it all the more. Fans managed to stop club mergers (Huddersfield-Sheffield and Hull-Gateshead were take overs not mergers) and we managed to see the back of Monday night games.
It's time to pressure the RFL to listen to what fans want or in this case don't want. I'll be writing, emailing and posting my objects to the Thursday night games I urge others to do the same.

The biggest difference between the GAA and the RFL is that the GAA wouldn't collapse without SKY who pay about €2,000,000 a year for the 14 games they show. To be fair to the RFL, many other if not most other pro sports owe everything to TV. The difference is the GAA get a major slice of everything from the grass roots up including a very similar attendance figure across both their games, as well as owning a number of stadiums giving them about a 40% profit margin on their turn over. It helps when you're not paying "footballers' wages to payers too!
Sky paying €2 million on top of the €10 million RTE pay is purely icing on a pretty wealthy cake!
