| I know points are carried forward to the Super 8s for the top group of teams, but is points difference carried over too?

953.jpg 2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!:953.jpg |
|
| Not seen anything specifically, but I expect the entire record is carried through for the top 8 and bottom 8.

| I'd like to see the points difference reset so it more accurately reflects the games after the split, rather than who has managed to thrash Wakefield/Salford by more points than other teams.
However, as my team played Wakefield at Magic Weekend it should work to our advantage if points difference is carried forwards.

| Yes, points difference is carried over.
Why should it not? We have a top 4 play-off in the end, so it's only right that the league standings should be a little unbalanced.

| Points difference carries across as far as I am aware.
The win this week for Huddersfield and Cas will go a long way to making it a 2 horse race for the 4th spot.
If cas beat Warrington next week ( and I would expect the too with Warrington in the cup the week after)
Then everyone above 5th will have a huge advantage going into the super 8's. Not sure anyone outside the top 5 will make much progress this year.

| It kind of invalidates the point of the top 8
One game in and Leeds will be uncatchable by the team's in 6/7/8
As it is it's basically a two horse race for the title - I'm thinking the superleague have managed to get a system with the worst of all options

How? The title is still only won in the last game of the season. There are two other places for the Top 4?
And there has to be a point in RL, where we reward the best teams, with the implication to others: improve, get better. Rather than dumbing down and dragging down teams that actually perform week in, week out.

How much advantage do you want?
You've already played the S.L. whipping boys three times, I bet Hull KR would have loved the two league points gifted to them at Newcastle.
Btw it's unfair to put Salford in the same bracket as Wakefield.

| Everything is carried over to the super 8s. If Cas beat Wire next week and Huddersield win. The top 5 will be 6 points clear of the chasing pack entering the super 8s. Meaning 6th, 7th and 8th Will have nothing to play for basically apart from pride. It will all come down to Wigan, huddersield and Cas to fight out the final 2 top 4 spots.

Then why not crown the league leaders as champions?

I'd love it if that was the case.
But the Grand Final is an institution now, and brings money and exposure that wouldn't occur under FPTP.
