| The BBC are suggesting that Scottish football are thinking about moving to the summer months. Not sure how this would work as they seem to play for about ten months a year as it is. I know that some Unionistas have also suggested a switch to the summer. If English football start to go the same way it could make for a very empty winter and we would no longer have any period of grace when we can at least get a fair crack at the uninitiated.

| Football won't do it. It's not realistic. You would have the Champions League final a couple of months into a new season. It would cause havoc with registrations and contracts. With heated pitches and grow lamps, it's not an issue at all to the big clubs. What you might get is the amateur game moving to summer, which I would support, it's daft having kids playing football through winter and having almost every game in November and December called off, then playing them all on week nights in March and April to catch up. I'd include Scottish football under the amateur banner, it's the same level.

| Depends what you're talking about really. If you're on about the Football League, it could potentially happen, and it would allow more of a chance to travel to long midweek away games, so could potentially be more practical for the fans. It would also give Sky/BT more football to show during summer. The Premier League would not do so, they wouldn't want to lose their best players during World Cup and Euros years, so every 2 years. They already moan enough when they lose players in January to the African Cup of Nations or the Asian Cup, players like Yaya Toure. There's no chance they'd let it happen throughout their season with a lot more of their best players. Imagine Man City for example, they'd lose Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta, David Silva, Yaya Toure, Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany. That's the spine of their team, the Premier League wouldn't move to summer. I doubt we'd see the Football League move to summer either, as clubs would be potentially losing players to lesser nations that happen to qualify.
As for the Scottish Football League, I still can't see them moving to summer. They'd be better taking a winter break for a month to stop games being postponed, starting the league a week or 2 earlier or getting rid of the split they do at the end of the season.

What he said. Not an issue to be concerned with.

| Who really cares about Mo & Ron Balls' game?
It's an inferior product compared to Rugby League.

| The only league football free month is June up here and then they play internationals, even if it happens it won't change much until they cut the number of games.
