Looking over the Superleague fixture list for next year I'm wondering how the RFL think Huddersfield and Salford fans are going to get the John Smith Stadium on Sunday 6th July?
Have the fixture list compilers been living in a box for the last 12 months, surely everyone living within 50 miles of the area know the Tour de France is in town that weekend and for Huddersfield it's literally in town that day;

I won't be surprise if Keighley are also at home that day either!
All games that weekend either need to be played outside the area or moved to Friday, it's the only sensible option.

| Having been to the tour on a number of times you should have no problem getting to the stadium even if Huddersfield is the finish.

| I dunno what time the cycling will finish that day but it may be beneficial to the Giants if people could then go to the game, maybe attract some new supporters.

| Seems a different day or a switch of reciprocal fixtures might be the best way to deal with this.
Agree with Hindle, might be worth having the game outside the event hours though as some people will be staying in hotels in the area and it might be an opportunity to carry out a mass marketing to get newbies into a game.

| Given that Hudds -v- Salford will be on course for a bumper crowd, perhaps they will be able to reroute the Tour to avoid it?

'" If Huddersfield have been stupid enough to not let the RFL know of a major event taking place in their town that day then that is their own fault. The clubs are all given the chance firstly to let them know which weekends are simply no-goes for home games and secondly drafts of the fixtures lists to identify issues.
The expectation of fans on here that the RFL is somehow responsible for repeated club-level incompetence is laughable. The governing body spends too much time clearing up at the SL clubs as it is. If there is indeed a problem with this date then it is purely the responsibility of Huddersfield Giants.

| The RFL cock up again, should avoid all games that weekend except Fridays and Mondays.
Leeds v Catalan on Friday is a great move though

| Thousands of additional Tourists in the area, get on to the Tour operators, English/Yorkshire Tourist Boards, sporting authorities, local authorities, etc, Rearrange the kick off time, date, to make it part of the 'event'. Take advantage of a great opportunity. Give people the chance to attend the night before. Its not often Clubs are able to plan for something so far ahead. Great marketing, sponsorship, hospitality, media and commercial options for Huddersfield (and Salford) if they are prepared to think outside of the "box".

It would be, but the race starts on Saturday 5th July. Leeds v Catalan is currently penciled in for Sunday 29th June (but will probably end up being Friday 27th).
Not bad, fixture planners were only a week out.
