| The World's Five Best players areGreg Inglis, Billy Slater, Jonathan Thurston, Cameron Smith, Sonny Bill Williams.[/i
So if that were to determine the outcome of the World Cup you would have to say that Australia is home and hosed.
Of course Australia is the favourite. However it takes 17 players to win a World Cup, and that is why the result is not preordained.
For example the world's best prop is Jared Whaerea-Hargreaves of New Zealand. The world's best winger may well be Roger Tuivasa-Sheck (we will only know if that is true after he plays against Ryan Hall in 11 days' time). The world's second best backrower could be Sam Burgess. etc. etc.
Moreover morale and attitude is crucial. Plus the ability of a team to concentrate on the play for 80 minutes.
So Australia may be rightful favourites, but other nations, especially New Zealand, at least have a chance.

You missed out Paul Gallen and perhaps Cooper Cronk.

| Doesn't Sinfield currently hold some award which suggest he is the best player in the world.
Is there a better pack than Englands.
Greg Inglis, Billy Slater, Jonathan Thurston, Cameron Smith, Sonny Bill Williams. can only play if the ball is good.

| Having seen Australia and New Zealand live, the Kiwis have look much more impressive at this stage of the tournament.
Australia have coasted through since the England game (which is fair enough) but in each of NZs game, you get the impression that they are putting on a performance.
And until England spelled George Burgess and Chris Hill for Lee Mossop and Tom Burgess, Australia's pack looked very ordinary.

this
I think the pack against fiji with G+S Burgess, Hill and Graham was our best 4 props and is capable of keeping the pressure of the first 20 against oz for the full 80
