I think what Willie means is if he was a younger guy now.

It makes sense given the money if following the money is all you are about.

But put it this way if he had played RU earlier it does not mean he would have been an All Black, which is basically his point. Be an All Black and get a lot of cash.

Personally if I could go back in time and chose my life path then I'd be an NFL player. But in life you don't get to script it like that. I'm not american to start with.

But he does stress how hard the RL game is. So it's not really a negative spin.

To be fair to him, it comes across to me as he's saying that Union is a much easier game, boring and just easy money. Says League is much harder and tougher and calls Union "Kick Tennis" !!

Actually, I think he's doing a great Job...he's been on National FTA TV over here pushing the 9's and is the type of character that the games needs to promote itself. He was interviewed in Hamilton, the home of the S15 Champs and his comments were well made IMHO....he took the out of NH Union which would have gone down well with the locals and he came across as pretty honest.
Hamilton is an hour away from Auckland and attracting fans from there will be important if you want the 9's to work....

Forgot he's promoting to Kiwis, he will look a genius to them!
