| Not sure if anybody else has seen it. While watching Jeremy Kyle on my day off, helps me realise life could always be worse, they ran an advert for the double header at Cardiff. Was a pretty decent advert tbh with quite a few players featured. The only confusing thing & I could be mistaken but I'm sure Stuart Fielden was on there.

Not really, it's just a cheap ad slot. The RFL are cheap like that.

Jeez - I know the RFL could improve in a lot of areas, but they're damned if they do, damned if they dont...
They have put together a national TV advert, a great plus, and people are negative about the 'target audience'. The RFL just cant win with some people....
And for what it's worth - I'm sure that it wont be the only time it's aired, I'm guessing it will be repeated numerous times, not just during episodes of Jeremy Kyle - infact, I understand there will be an advert during the England football coverage on Friday night - that will hardly have been 'cheap'..... Although I'm sure someone will find a reason to moan about that.... 'Why are the RFL wasting money on expensive adverts during a football game - we don't want scummy football fans ruining our world cup'.....

Popular amongst housewives with children. So you do not think targeting familes is a good idea?

Of course they have otherwise they would not have sold so many tickets. Their anticipated audience you would imagine is regular supporters, those outside traditional areas with either a passing intetest in in RL or major international events. If the numbers and statistics are to be believed then they have not only identified their target audience but have been successful at reaching this.
The upcoming world is the most heavily marketed international RL tournament with the exception of the 2008 tournament. You could argue it is the international sporting event that has received the biggest marketing effort from a governing body.

| They're putting it on at Half Time during the England game on the 15th. That won't be cheap.

not sure what the problem is, unless you think that the only people who watch the Jeremy Kyle Show are the same demographic of the characters that appear on the show.
I dont know for sure, but I would assume that the audience demographic covers most ages and socio-demographic groups, from students to pensioners, professionals who 'work at home', shift workers, as well as people who dont work.

| Popular with soliders too, I see it in passing almost every morning with 30+ blokes sat around watching it.
I guess young blokes with money burning a hole in their pockets is a bad audience though...

| I would imagine the RFL have bought a 'basket' of ad time, which will be shown across various shows and channels.
I would also like to see them get some of the players on shows like the One Show, This Morning, Saturday Kitchen, Graham Norton, Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross etc though, these shows collectively pull in millions of viewers and are different audiences to what RL usually attracts.

| I don't watch the bbc channels that often, but are they running any promos for their actual coverage of the WC games they have?
I know there was something on during the CC final build up, but I mean actual standalone features that air between completely unrelated broadcasts.
Perhaps we are still too far away for those to kick in yet.

Yeah. Tatted up meatheads pumping iron in the gym and smashing into each other with a ball. Can't imagine that would appeal to that demographic.
Stroke of rare genius from the RFL.

Priority now should be shifting tickets. They can davertise any relevant coverage much closer the time.
