| Only to those who either:
1. Haven't been listening to almost a year's discussions to which they have been invited; or
2. Are too full of self interest, to recognise what will benefit the whole game from Grass Roots to International level.

| How do the C1 clubs benefit from this proposed restructure? The amateur clubs? Age group RL?

| 7 of the top flight clubs have issues to take up with the RFL.
And thats just upto now there could be more.
I dont see how its selfish of them myself. If it was one club yes, but not half the league nearly.

Nah...the RFL, whilst trying to pressgang the clubs down their route have themselves been ambushed, the game needs no distractions such as this with the eyes of the world (eastern Australia actually) on the game at RLWC.
What will follow now is 6/7 weeks of political back scratching/stabbing behind the scenes and a unified statement on the future of the game around about mid December.....
IMHO that is

| The eyes of the world on the World Cup yet in this country even the TV companies cant get their act together. The BBC has live coverage of 7 of the 28 games but you can listen to the rest on radio. What a joke.Meanwhile Virgin and Premier Sports are still bickering and unlikely to come to any agreement before the tournament starts. That leaves Sky for those fortunate enough to have it.
Its a disgrace that the whole tournament isnt on the BBC so as many people as possible will get to view this fantastic sport free of charge.Surely that should have been one of the priorities of the organisers/RFL

| I'm surprised that anyone is surprised by this... Under the proposal all SL clubs will:
- be given less central funding
- have to somehow structure in more games to make up the 28-30 that they have always insisted they need to have any chance to break even in a season (and that was without reduced funding)
So what effect does this have on the clubs? Well they have to either increase revenue or swallow the loss. Most clubs have found it difficult to increase revenue even when there wasn't a recession so swallow the loss is all that's left. In the case of those clubs with single owners means the owner has to put their hands in their pocket and it seems that even the Wigan & Warrington owners are baulking at that.
The only surprise really is that its taken this long to happen. My guess is that the 'owners' were counting on the proposed restructuring being 'administered to death' by the RFL. The call for an EGM changed that.

Black Backgrounds/Zoot.gif Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently.

| 1 of the CEOs of clubs allegedly revolting was very much in favour of the new structure a few months ago, I wonder if the goal posts have changed?
