I thought that the RFL was bad in the development area. But at least they can offer the excuse that they have little money to work with.
By contrast the new team in charge of the NRL are just hopeless. The NRL has just got a billion dollars but they have no idea what to do with it. No strategic plan even being developed.
Etonia Naboli is apparently another potential Fijian star, working not as a rugby league player but as a porter at a major hotel. The NRL couldn't care less. Thank heavens for Andrew Johns and Brad Fittler. They recognize that we have to develop the game on the island, because there is so much natural talent there that is not being developed and recruited to rugby league. They love the game and have put their personal money out to help build it in Fiji, starting with Etonia Naboli.

My mistake in wording. I should have written: "No strategic plan for expansion of the game being developed."

NRL expansion? Sometime soon, maybe......:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_9857.jpg |

| Lol, fail! The strategic plan makes specific mention of a focus on expanding the game in new areas of Australia and the PI's. the new SOO eligibility ruling will help the likes of Fiji no end, they send a prime ministers xiii to png every year to do development work and they are encouraging png to join the q'land cup. Suggest you learn a bit more about what is happening before making sweeping statements! The strategic plan sets out the top end goals and they are now working on the operational plan to meet those goals. Considering the game here hasn't had a strategic plan for over a decade I'd say its a step in the right direction!

But the NRL refused to even meet with Immortal Andrew Johns and icon Brad Fittler, let alone support their mission to help the game in Fiji and to recruit an apparent star in the making.
That demonstrates a dreadful attitude to expansion.

| Fiji and Western Somoa need to be looked at big time by the ARL/NRL.
These places play Rugby Union and there is no reason why Rugby League cant take off there.

| RL is taking off there, more and more Fijian players are being discovered and the arlc for the first time ever has identified in its strategic document the importance of developing the pi's. give them a chance, they are still sorting out the mess Gallop left behind.
