Yeah, Man Utd got 74k the other day, whereas Catalans only got 11k. The game is on its backside.

Yeah, cos in Aus the NRL doesn't hold the same position as the Premiership holds in this country now does it? The NRL is a major sporting league, SL is a REGIONAL sporting league.
If we didn't have football in this country, then maybe RL would be getting those sorts of crowds. But we do and so we don't.

| It's nice though, that one of the smaller supported clubs like Warrington have got into the last four of the play-offs.

indeed, good to see the people of Warrington flocking to embrace their teams playoff charge
Just goes to show how many half d, johnny come lately, challenge cup glory hog fans they have these days. If its not covered on a season ticket, or at Wembley then they can't be d showing up.
Some of these 'big club' supporters obviously dont appreciate making the playoffs anymore. They should do, its better than being e.

Exactly, the average crowd in the A-League (Australia's top football division) is around 10,500, likewise for the playoffs. It's simple, in Australia RL is MUCH, MUCH bigger than over here, whilst football is on another planet in England compared to its Aussie equivalent. Fans can't spend too much money following many sports, so you have to choose, and in England its football that wins.

I laughed at Sky's Eddy making the excuse for them that some were maybe thinking about next week and having to travel.
It's Warrington to Saint Helens or Wigan FFS, it's not exactly far to go.
I just thought it looked a bit small time on the TV tonight and wondered why they bothered filling the corners in.

To be fair to the Warrington fans, they had to pay last week (to watch in all honesty a meaningless game), they then have to pay again this week, then for the Saints game and again if they get to Old Trafford.
Now if yoru lucky enough to just have to pay for yourself, then paying £20 3 weeks in a row then even more for a final is a hit some folk can take (although not all). A lot will think, well i'll have to give this one a miss so i can afford the final.
If you've got a family though, how the heck can you expect them to afford to pay out for 3 games in a row then even more for a final ticket.

Exactly, nail on the head. Warrington fans, if they get all the way to Old Trafford, are looking at forking out 5 times in 7 weeks if you include the CC Final. Tough ask for many fans especially those with kids.
As a Leeds fan, if i had attended every none regular season game over the last 6 years, would have had to of paid for...
- 22 CC games, including 3 finals with travel down to London.
- 4 WCC games
- 18 Playoffs games including 4 Grand Finals.
That's 44 games in 6 seasons and could possibly be 45 in 2 weeks time. Also people have interests (especially on a Friday & Saturday night) other than rugby and when they've not commited to going (by buying a season ticket) it make's the decision to do something else easier. I myself missed last week at home to Wakefield as it was one of my best mate's birthday and simple stuff like that must pop up for most fans.

Mummy duck is now thoroughly depressed. SHE was the one that was famous for losing five in a row........until the 2011 GF!!!!!: |
|
| There is also another factor to take into account with the playoffs. A factor which possibly wont affect the attendance in great numbers but which does caused fixture fluctuations in the season. People work shifts. At present we (Warrington) do not know who or when we are playing next week. Therefore people on work-shifts may not have to make arrangements and therefore attend. This is also the case during the season when waiting for SKY to make announcements of game days/times in the second half of the season.
