New season, same coverage! Peter Mitchell, sports editor at Sunday Telegraph has confirmed that there is NO club by club preview in tomorrows edition (the last Sunday before kick off). More like another kick in the teeth! See his explanation herehttps://www.thelifedept.co.uk/livelonger/league-in-media/rugby-league-in-the-media-sunday-telegraph/rl
Peter reports to Ben Clissitt, Head of Sport at Telegraph Media Group and he has acknowledged that RL coverage last season was poor. First chance to do something to give the sport a decent write up and . . . This is a film of what Ben said to me rlhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v
How long do we have to put up with this? If you want to share bad coverage amongst a group of fans wanting to fight back email me stuart.glendinning@thelifedept.co.uk or follow me on twitter @StuGlendinning

| Yep.
What is the best RL paper this year?
The Daily Mirror normally does a good pull out.

| Well, they may ignore RL in the paper copy (I don't know as I no longer buy it) but there is a rlpre-season reviewrl today in the Daily Telegraph online.

For as long as it isn't in the publication's commercial interest to devote much coverage to the sport?

| I don't understand. If you read the Telegraph, you must understand you're reading the house journal of the Tory establishment. The Tory establishment not only has no interest at all in RL, but would actually prefer to see it die off in favour of their favourite sport - rugby union.
You'd probably have the same chance of persuading the Telegraph to run more articles giving positive coverage to Ed Miliband or the point of view of public sector workers.
Good effort for trying, and all that, but you're fighting a losing battle there.

No. But I think most Telegraph readers would happily accept that they are indeed the voice of the Tory party in the constituencies. If any of their readers were unaware of that, I'd be genuinely concerned for their intelligence. Although given the average age of Telegraph readers, I suppose dementia isn't uncommon.
If you're in any doubt, feel free to find any Telegraph article which is to the left of David Cameron, since he took over leadership. MOst Torygraph readers seem to think he's some sort of trendy pinko who's in-hock to those frothing commies in the, er, LibDems.
