| Yorkshire Radio is making a programme to select the team of the super league era, a dream team across all seasons. I found this quite interesting and it got me thinking enough to put a team together. I went for a team of:
1. Sam Tomkins
2. Jason Robinson
3. Jamie Lyon
4. Keith Senior
5. Lesley Vianikolo
6. Trent Barrett
7. Sean Long
8. Adrian Morley
9. Kieron Cunningham
10. Jamie Peacock
11. Gareth Ellis
12. Andy Farrell
13. Paul Sculthorpe
Any thoughts?

I would go with most of that apart from Morley, Tomkins and maybe Barrett.
Morley spent most of the years in the NRL so someone like Graham or Fielden.
Tomkins has only been around a couple of years compared to Radlinski, Prescott who performed well for years.
Same with Barrett, a couple of good years, but does he get in ahead of Briers, Tommy Martyn, Mcguire?

Well, they've obviously taken longevity into account with Seniors selection, so it doesn't all make sense, but lets face it, this was probably just a couple of journo's spitballing in the pub and turned it into an article.

| Lots to argue with about that team selection, but Barrett was for the most part an expensive embarrassment while he was here, whatever his NRL credentials, so would get nowhere near an all-time SL team.

It was just the team that I selected the actual team selected by Yorkshire Radio will be revealed on the 22nd december I think.
Barrett and Tomkins are in my opinion fantastic players and better than others who have had longer in those positions in Super League

| My team of the SL era would be:
Iestyn Harris
Jason Robinson
Steve Renouf
Keith Senior
Darren Albert
Henry Paul
Sean Long
James Graham
Keiran Cunningham
Barrie McDermott
Jamie Peacock
Paul Sculthorpe
Andy Farrell
Subs:
Stuart Fielden
Danny McGuire - In his prime he was immense
Joe Vagana
Dave Furner
Coach: Graham Murray - Purely because he was written to because his players were "tackling too hard"
Of course people will disagree as we have been treated to outrageously good players over the years and people will have different favourites and club loyalties etc.
Good thread though.

| These things are always subjective. I am eliminating longevity from the equation and simply thinking about which players were the best when they were at the top of their game and I think the team below is pretty useful
1. Sam Tomkins
2. Tevita Vaikona
3. Jamie Lyon
4. Matt Gidley
5. Jason Robinson
6. Trent Barrett
7. Sean Long
8. Stuart Fielden
9. Keiron Cunningham
10. David Fairleigh
11. Gareth Ellis
12. Jamie Peacock
13. Paul Sculthorpe

But 1 season out of over 15 shouldnt warrant been in team of the decade. If that was the criteria then surely Andrew Johns should be in at SH. Best player in the world at the time. He only player a few games over here so shouldnt be considered. Same with Buderus. He has played 2 good seasons but Cunningham should get the 9 in a team of SL era.
