| How ludicrous must our sport look to the "outsider" looking on last night with different rules for internationals as well as between the NRL and ESL.

| The bit where the Australian ref had to explain to a confused English player that he'd awarded a penalty to Australia because it was the 'international' advantage rule, was a bit embarassing.
Do other sports have different rules for internationals and domestic competitions, or is it just us?

| The answer is
It was the head and feed at a scrum, rather than a penalty. The point still stands though

| What do we think about that 'pass is an advantage played' rule? For me no advantage was gained whatsoever. Also the rule on attacking team gets the ball from the refs error- regards calling 'held' at the same time as an offload. How was the team doing the defending deemed the attacking team!!?
If we want 'outsiders' to pick up on our sport these rules need to be simplified, iv been watching RL for 20 years and don't fully understand these calls.

because it was in England's own half therefore the Australians were deemed to be in an attacking half. If the offload penalty had been 20 meters further up field then England would have had the ball.

| Slightly OT and I don't know if it was seen on TV but when an Aus try was handed to the video ref, the referee made England stand behind the try line as if a try had been awarded. When England tried to set up for restart because they could see on the screen that it was not a try, the ref shuffled them back behind the line. Not seen that one before.

I know WHY the decision went that way, a territory concept, my point is WHY is that the way the rule works- i may be wrong but 40-20 aside (its a reward not a penalty), can't think of any other rules in our game where territory is considered a factor in decisions, possession yes field position no.

Yes there is , field position comes into play in penalty try decisions , unless the ball is 6 inches from contacting the try line , it is Ok to smash somebody in the face and not give away a PT

| The game is a joke sometimes, this being one of them. One set of rules for the game and no changes unless ratified by the RLIF and adopted worldwide.

| It is a stupid idea to have different rules depending on where the game is being played. Why can't the RFL and the ARL get together and put down a unified set of rules that will govern SL,NRL and international games. That way you don't have any of this "oh well it's the international interpretation" nonesense
