With the #4Nations being the last major international tournament before the #RLWC13, we should hopefully see allot of marketing soon. At the end of the day if the marketing is correct the World Cup will be the most successful ever. It would be nice to see the RFL taking RL to the masses and not [ijust[/i promoting the World Cup to current supporters of the game.

With the likes of Wane Rooney supporting Leeds Rhinos and no doubt countless celebrities from around the world supporting RL such as Russell Crowe and Matthew Lewis (N Longbottom from Harry Potter) surely we have a huge opportunity to push the game...

There's already signs up on the east lancs road for 'Wigan 2013'. They look good too.

I've said for ages we should use celebrities to promote the game.

Players such as Rooney, Joey Barton, Ryan Sidebottom etc love the game so we should definitely use it to our advantage

we need to make sure that the world cup games are played in front of full stadiums and if that means lots of ticket offers like £10 for adults and £5 for kids or £20 for 2 adults and 2 kids then lets do it.
kick the tournement of with a double header at wembley england vs aus and kiwi vs france with games mostly in the heartlands but a few games in places like coventry, bristol, south wales ect where grass roots rugby is been done and champiosnhip teams are on the horizion

The Semi Final should be a double header and 'tournament tickets' should be on sale giving access to all group matches and quarter finals.

I still think they should have let France play games at home and had it as the Anglo-French World Cup. They packed grounds out in the European Cup, and they'd be more competitive at home.

Guaranteed 3 10k+ crowds. And the promo money we would have had to use to promote for example France v Tonga in Widnes, could go into another non English game to promote it.

The two 2013 World Cup qualifiers will be confirmed at the end of this month. Once they are the RFL and the RLIF need to decide on the venues, release the fixture dates and start drumming up interest for ticket sales and corporate. That will give them just under two years to sell the games to the British and Irish public.
Don't give any tickets away free. It devalues the competition.

When you say free are you including competitions? Wigan used to give away a couple hundred free tickets to local schools but that stopped a while back.

They give out free tickets to scholarship players and Wigan ref society etc but yeah they stopped free school tickets a couple of years ago.

Very few. Unless it's something as big as the FA Cup Final, The Open, Wimbledon or British GP I think every event gives free tickets away. Although I do understand Catalancs point.
