| why is it a disaster? what are the attendances for recent mid season internationals against france? its hardly a disaster in the context of the usual attendances for the mid season international.

| Fairly steady rain in Leeds for most of the morning, which might kill some of the walk-up.
Anything over 7,500 would be a successful night I reckon - the RFL seriously need to revisit their pricing strategy if they want this game to be a long term success though.

| So 7,500 vs France last year was a disaster, but 7,500 tonight would be a success. Go figure.
(Not a dig at you btw AG, just still struggling to see how this improves things as a replacement for the France game).

| Anything under 10,000 either says the game has been marketed poorly or is a waste of time and the public are not behind the concept.
You can get more than couple of thousand to good Rugby League School final in Australia.
You wonder why the NRL Clubs said it was not a real Test match and preferred not to send 2 plays over for the enjoyment of 5621 fans
Where will SL be in 20 years time?

| I don't think the France game was dumped on the basis of attendances, and neither should this game be judged on that basis either.
It's about whether it provides some opportunity for the England team to face credible opposition and spend some time together in camp mid-season. Clearly playing the French only provided one out of the two.
It's a brand new event. Many fans have been sceptical about its concept/whether it will be a genuine contest. If it stands up well on both counts tonight, then that should hopefully be enough to pull bigger crowds in future years.

| It's just too easy to stay in and watch it on tv. We know rugby league fans are some of the tightest around, so why prices started from £19 for a untested contest is baffling.

| The prices are FARRR too expensive, if you didnt claim your £5 voucher theres no point bothering, 30 odd quid to sit in that carnegie stand?? get lost.
The marketing was great I thought only the pricing's wrong and you cant expect people to stump up both on a friday and a sunday.
Should have been on a free weekend or a wednesday like origin, half term and all

| What I don't understand is that fans moan that it won't be a success and have a small crowd! Well sureley it's upto the fans to get off their backside instead of moaning how poor our game is and attend these fixtures to make them a success. The pot calling the kettle black me thinks!

| It's not classed as a proper Test match thats why it doesnt seem to be a crowd winner a people are sceptical to see if the players give it 100%.
There is plenty more interest in the media than a normal Test v France though which is good for the profile of the sport.

And that in my opinion, is a significant problem. People won't spend their time and money on 2 RL games in a weekend and as we all know with RL fans, club comes before country.

| Not at all, country before club ANY day of the week. I just havent got the money, had the money when it was announced and so on and since have made other plans.
Ive not been many away games because of financial strains this year and i reckon thousands are in the same boat
