| Worthless gutter journalism, though Leaf has been a dick of the highest order and won't be anywhere near RL again.
But let's take a look at the Sun's exclusive claimsTODAY we reveal how rugby league's cheats deliberately fix matches to pull off massive betting coups.
'" No, you reveal how one man likes to brag about betting on his own team and boasts he can influence games if playing in them.
Quote: A senior rugby league official [i:261ypoig](The Sun knows his name)[/i:261ypoig] took a more-than-usual interest "How games are fixed.'" No, how games might be influenced by one player.
Quote: A senior rugby league official [i:261ypoig](The Sun knows his name)[/i:261ypoig] took a more-than-usual interest "How the captain of Doncaster bet against his own side to lose by at least 38 points to Wakefield Wildcats in the Challenge Cup on Sunday.'" I'll give them this, but that's slightly different to fixing a game. He didn't even play in the tie.
Quote: A senior rugby league official [i:261ypoig](The Sun knows his name)[/i:261ypoig] took a more-than-usual interest "How he had previously laid out £600 on Doncaster to lose another match.'" Ok, so he's been nailed here again.
Quote: A senior rugby league official [i:261ypoig](The Sun knows his name)[/i:261ypoig] took a more-than-usual interest "How a top rugby league official persuaded him to try and lose a game.'" Don't see any mention of that? How vague is this(The Sun knows his name)[/i took a more-than-usual interest" isn't the same as persuading a player to lose a game. Is it?
Quote: A senior rugby league official [i:261ypoig](The Sun knows his name)[/i:261ypoig] took a more-than-usual interest "How players pull tricks to swing results.'" Again, based on the boasts of one player.
Quote: A senior rugby league official [i:261ypoig](The Sun knows his name)[/i:261ypoig] took a more-than-usual interest "There is no suggestion any of Leaf's team-mates behaved improperly or knew he had bet on his side to lose - and - None of Leaf's team-mates behaved improperly or knew he had bet on the team to lose.'" Ah, so just this one player then.
And this idiot claims to be able to tell from tackles that the opposition are betting on the outcome? By their mentality? But not the kids of course, because they have aspirations. Just the old heads apparently.
I have no doubt some dubious betting goes on in all sports. But to label RL as a whole thanks to this second-rate is laughable. Get rid of him and move on.

[quote="Steve":1xb0p6sn] Dislike Leigh with a passion, but they are a million miles ahead of any other club in this league, a sad fact. [/quote:1xb0p6sn]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_24148.jpg |

| " Leaf, 22, blatantly broke Rugby League rules by handing over his money and betting slip at a northern office of William Hill and then admitting, now faces a long ban and a hefty fine for betting on a match in which his own club was involved."
Fair play to him playing rugby for doncaster since he was 13
The whole article seems poorly written but it is a bad reflection on our sport.

Hull would need to de-register players mid way through the season in order to squeeze them onto their salary cap, and that would be wrong (cheating if you will) wouldn’t it?

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

| What an absolute disgrace of an article that is not only extremely patronising in places, but very libellous. They're making suggestions and printing them as fact, all because they've spoken to one never-has been in a pub that didn't even know who he was talking to.
Seriously, I think the RFL should consider some kind of legal action.

IIRC, Leaf is 27 or 28 (can't rembember to be honest), and is currently out injured with a broken thumb.
If anything, he's been a bit daft with who he has made the 'boasts' to, and deserves whatever punishment comes his way.
